I ordered a new chair to help with the WFH situation - it had been on the “to purchase” list for a couple months anyway but this pushed me to actually buy it. Kiddo “helped” me assemble it yesterday and it’s reasonably comfortable now.
Tony Victor:
I do not trust the latch lock on my older storm door, but I want some extra light in the house today. Put a baby gate on the outside of the door since it outswings so now I have the latch lock which is alright AND the baby gate, which I believe makes the door pet safe enough for a 7 pound cat.
We went for a family walk this morning and I spotted a deer! Now everyone is tired.
I used my exercise bike this morning and it almost killed me. but I’m going to keep doing it even for a short time each day because I am so out of shape and I feel terrible. Ugh.
Husband found hand weights and diapers yesterday morning. In for another round of full isolation! Back onto my PT plan today. We’ll see how it goes doing it in my apartment with a nosy pup and a sound reactive infant though
Also a Tiny Victory, because the washer now appears to be working! And yay me for having the right tool that I don’t remember owning.
Got some workout gear and got back to working out. Turns out, the baby LOVES watching us workout. Wins all around.
I picked up a giant grocery order and now we have tons of fresh food. Home made guac for dinner!
I helped some people, coordinate some stuff, that might help with things. Very vague, but I’m feeling victorious about my role.
Remembered I originally gave my dress darts at the shoulders because it was too wide. Well, my shoulders have widened as an adult and it was too tight - a quick unpick and I can keep the dress!
I set up my wireless printer all by my damned self!! And it works!
(This is a huge victory. Printers hate me.)
Now that we have watched both movies my kids understand that Dirty Dancing is far better than Footloose. We may or may not be learning the final dance number as a family activity.
Because I’m working from home now, I can keep my heat pad (ok, fine, microwaveable bear) firmly attached to my stomach through the work day.
We went out in the world and weather didn’t try to get us!!! Anxiety defeated for now
My friend and I miss each other so we’re parking in an empty lot with our driver seats six feet from each other, just to see each other and have a chat.
Yay!
Chatting normally, or doors shut and on the phone to each other?
Windows down, six feet between our faces, chatting like humans.
That friend of mine is a front line worker- she runs a company doing residential and commercial cleaning, and does much of the work herself. I’m her main childcare and the closest thing her kid has to a second parent.
My friend and her kid won’t see me or my kids, other than parking lot chats and maybe walking far apart at the dog park, until this is over. My friend’s uncomplaining commitment to keeping me safe is the most incredible act of love. She is so good.
I got TWO HOURS to myself after Duckling went to bed today! I did no work. Yay!
