I got Peacock Alley ones from Sierra (discount store) and they’re super luxurious, but right now they don’t have any in stock.

Super luxurious sounds delightful  I’ll keep an eye on Sierra to see if they come back in stock

I love my Calvin Klein ones I got from Costco. They are super thick, soft, but not so soft they don’t absorb water, if that makes sense!

If you’re willing to wait, usually sometime in the year they’ll show up. Old colors being discontinued or something like that

These are the ones I got a few years back:

TBH the Vera Wang towels from Kohls are good!! And many colors.

We get bath sheets from Costco! They are $12 (maybe 13 now?) super plush and fluffy, and stay soft! Boring colors, though.

We are using Sandcloud bath towels at a friend’s house how, good size and absorbent, but thinner (meaning more compact). A bit pricy but maybe worthwhile if space is at a premium!

Seconding the Costco ones! Don’t shed at the get go the way so many plush towels do, just the right combo of absorbent and comfy but not fuzz leaving or take so long to try they get stank.

I don’t have a Costco membership, but those do sound great and a great price!

If you have a friend who has membership they could have them mailed to you, I think!

I’m also looking for towels. I bought some in 2015, they shed lint, and I thought after a few trips through the dryer, that would stop. In 2023, they still shed a fine layer of lint wherever I hang them. They’re wearing out and I’d like to replace them with something that does not shed lint.

Additionally, I want something that absorbs water well (as opposed to the fancy ones which just rearrange it on my skin) and dry quickly.

All of the reviews I’ve read, including the towels recommended above, seem to have issues with lint. Does anybody have any recommendations for lint-free towels?

Hmmm, mine shed lint in the dryer trap (I think all cotton does) but not while I’m using it. I think long staple cotton is the key. If you want the most long staple, look for Pima or Egyptian cotton. Cheap cotton with short fibers won’t stay together and that’s why they shed.

You might want to try thin linen towels! They will dry quickly and you won’t have a lint problem if you get quality linen. There are a lot of good linen sellers from Lithuania on Etsy. Not cheap but will last a long time.

I purchased some small ones of these when I needed some quick drying towels that would have to be soaked daily. Not sure if the medium is big enough for you since the large one is sold out. Also another thing regarding absorbing water well, don’t use fabric softener sheets. It basically puts a coating on your fabrics and it’ll stop towels from absorbing properly.

I like the cheap IKEA towels. Dry beautifully and I’ve not noticed any sort of lint problem. Plus cheap!

Do not buy the black and white striped towels at Target right now. They are horrid lint monsters masquerading as towels.

I think I will go with the IKEA towels, thank you. They are the first ones where there a not a lot of reviews mentioning lint. I can deal with thin - they dry faster.

My old ones came from Target, and they were the lint monsters.

I don’t have a dryer since I moved. There’s a lint trap in my washing machine that does a so-so job. I only used to use the dryer to knock down the lint and the wrinkles, about 10 minutes per load, then would air dry. I haven’t seen a good quality dryer for a good price, and I’d have to find a new place to store my bikes. So, I definitely don’t want to bring in a lint monster because I don’t have an oversized lint remover any more!

Ordered. A set of 4 including hand towels and wash cloths for $40; I usually don’t like to pay for shipping but I’m happy to do this time to get something I think will work for that price.

Paging @Marcela and @Oro @diapasoun
So I’m going to a wedding in a month. And by that I mean a friend needs to get married on short notice because her immigration paperwork finally came through! So we’re doing the ceremony in our backyard because my partner is already ordained. It will be the bride and groom, and my family, and that’s it!

The bride and groom plan to wear full plate mail. I want something with renn faire ish vibes to wear. I’ve wanted a corset for aaaages but never bought one. Tempted to sew my own but that’s a bad idea because NO! deadline sewing.

Fave shops to buy corsets online? I’m thinking I want a non-cupped overbust corset. How do I do this?

sizing

My waist size is 45" but it varies a lot and is skwooshy. Hips 52". Which rules out a lot of etsy sellers, seemingly

Partner says: your best bet for the timeline might be a sex shop or a Ren faire vendor

I know this person who makes them custom but I doubt the timeline would work :frowning:

I’ll brainstorm more!

Thanks! Yeah the timeline is too tight but custom would normally be my top pick.

I think there’s a shop in NYC I could go to but I don’t reallllly want to do a city trip for this.

Agreed your best bet on timeline is a sex shop (or lingerie shop) or Renn Faire vendor.

If you use Facebook, there are a surprisingly large number of vendors who post on there. I saw someone doing a big sale on leather corsets in a wide variety of sizes recently, but I don’t think I can find the post. I’ll give it a whirl when I’m at my computer though.
