In terms of looks, I think mauve, blue, pink, but really blue wins out because of pockets.

They’re all good options. The mauve looks the most like a normal, non-bridesmaid dress, so you could wear it for other events. And honestly pockets in a dress like this are always disappointing, unless you’re only carrying one credit card and a stick of gum. Maybe worth testing that out, put your stuff in there and see if it makes the dress fit funny.

My husband actually said “I like [the mauve] one, it looks like you could shorten it and wear it again later”, and I just facepalmed, because apparently he’s never seen 27 Dresses.

I do agree that it’s the most likely to be worn again, though.

The pockets weren’t awful! I think I might get the mauve try-on one in the right size to see how it feels and go from there.

They are all pretty and you look good in all of them! Sorry, I know that doesn’t really help. But I think whatever you like best because they are all good. I like the light pink on you the most, but I know that’s not the final color so it doesn’t matter. But just so you know, you look great in that light pink color, it really suits you.

So if I were choosing just based on the style of dress not knowing how they feel on you, I’d say mauve, pink, blue.

I think the cut of the mauve looks best on you (especially once it’s sized properly). I feel like I never actually use pockets in nice dresses anyway so that wouldn’t be a factor for me. But as a side note, please go buy something you can wear regularly in that blue color because THAT IS YOUR COLOR. Looks fab on you.

Thanks so much for all the input and links, @nickybecky1! I’m down the rabbit hole of Young House Love now!

I love their blog, podcast (sadly not currently very active) and their Instagram Stories. I listen to their podcasts over and over when I have trouble sleeping.

Oh no, another podcast to add to my list! :joy:

Well the good news is, it’s been on basically a permanent hiatus except one episode since about sept 2020…

I have the exciting opportunity to buy a new toilet. What should I look for when buying a toilet?

Requirements: Like many hot girls, I live with IBS; semi-related, sustainability/water use etc. is not a top concern for me.

Don’t get dual flush. They are horrible for repairs.

Get a fancy toilet seat. There are many amazing features available in modern toilet seats.

Get a bidet attachment! Have wiping your butt be so much better.

If you have a small space you’ll probably want a round bowl, otherwise and extended bowl gets you a lot more options. There are beautiful streamlined versions (one piece instead of two) that claim they are easier to clean because there are less books and crannies? Also some bowls now have self cleaning features built in

“Comfort height” means the seat is higher off the ground… potentially not great for constipation prone people?

We just got this one because it was a mis-order in the shop and therefore quite discounted. It works! It’s a toilet! As short-average height person I wish it was not comfort height. https://www.us.kohler.com/us/wellworth-two-piece-round-front-1.28-gpf-toilet-w-class-five-flush-technology-right-hand-trip-lever-and-insuliner-tank-liner/productDetail/toilets/428327.htm?skuId=410118

Even though we had one annoying repair after about 8 years, I am still very happy with our Toto. As we only have one toilet in the house, we cared a lot about reliability, and it was a good choice. I previously had lived in a house with three unreliable toilets, that was unpleasant and stressful.

As a fellow short bisexual, let me warn you away from comfort height. It’s really unnerving to try to go to the bathroom when your feet barely touch the ground.

Oh my god I missed the word “short” and just read “bisexual” and I was SO FUCKING CONFUSED. I had to read that like 5 times before I realized I missed a word.

You didn’t know that bisexuals occasionally bend time and space around themselves? :joy:

This explains a lot.

Also trying to do this over time can result in lower back problems. Since the “comfort” height thing is in our house, I now have a stool.*

*Pun not intended, but I’m leaving it.

I’ve been happy with my Kohler toilet and just bought a second for the basement. Paired with Brondell bidet attachment it’s amazing! Before I bought it, I thought the cold water would be an issue but it’s been totally fine. It’s very clean and refreshing feeling on my bum. I also have a Squatty Potty knockoff that’s made of bamboo and is functional and attractive. It even has massage rollers on it for your feet that I never use, but they are there! :joy:

At the fancy Japanese spa there is a Toto Washlet attached and the toilet is way too tall for me, and I wish I had a Squatty Potty here. Then the height wouldn’t matter.
