Oh that’s a great trip with the ear wings!
But get the insurance on them because little kids scratch up the lenses in no time flat.
So I struggled hard with the method and mrs meyers scents. The meyers was so effective though!
I got these from my overpriced local produce delivery company and I’m thrilled! Just below meyers in efficacy
I need (“need”) so many things for my new house. But let’s start with patio furniture. I have a table and six chairs and they are functional but ugly. Now that my family room (where we spend most of our time when at home) looks directly out onto the deck, I have become offended by my ugly patio table and chairs. I see them all the time now and I don’t want to see them. So I need less offensive patio furniture. Where does one buy nice patio furniture? Also, I’m thinking of ditching the table and chairs thing altogether. Maybe sofas and chairs instead? You can hold your plate on your lap? More difficult when eating out there but better to look at from inside and more comfortable when just lounging, not eating.
Also, it rains a lot here. Not in the summer, but then the rest of the year. How do you have furniture that looks nice/is pretty/isn’t plastic or aluminum but can deal with our weather? Is that possible? For example, this is beautiful (and expensive!) but I doubt it would look good after a rainy 8 months on my deck.
I also have two decks so I maybe need a lot of patio furniture?
I’m not sure what fits your definition of nice, but parent/sibling/several friends have variations of recycled plastic/resin deck furniture and seem to like it, and there’s a lot of variation in what you can get as far as tables, lounge chairs, couches, etc. It’s all heavy as hell, but it doesn’t seem to have any issues with rain or snow (although I know sibling had to replace a few cushions and add some tiedowns for particularly windy days). Parent and sibling both raided Wayfair as I recall, but friends have built sets from the local hardware stores.
I thought this kind of thing was resin but it says PE Rattan Wicker. I don’t know what PE Rattan Wicker is. And I guess I don’t know what resin is. I’ll keep looking!
PE is probably polyethylene, a type of plastic.
Oh, thanks!
I’m kind of still in love with that first one I posted that I fear won’t fare well in our wet climate. But then I was thinking, just cover it? That’s how we keep our BBQ grill outdoors all year.
I also noticed this in the description: Acacia wood will weather to a soft gray over time.
It’s plastic but you don’t really notice that unless you poke at it? I have a set of 2 chairs and a table that I bought at Lowes or HD a couple of years ago, and a couch that I bought at Wayfair last summer. They’re pretty weather proof, though I think people usually cover them for the winter.
If you want really nice stuff go to a really nice garden store, IME. They carry the nicer grade sets and you can check them out better.
Ok, this may not be quite the right thread for this, but I don’t have a journal and I’m not starting one just for this. I need to find a bridesmaid dress, and I love groupthink on big decisions like this, but my go-to people disagree, lol. Help me pick!
The dress would actually be a sage green, so disregard colors with my own coloring. Also the mauve one is a size too big The blue one has pockets! The pink one has a lace top that is more flattering than the blue. But pockets! Gah. I can custom order to my size, theoretically, so alterations shouldn’t be an issue. These are try-on dresses that the company has that I ordered, because heck if I can tell which one I like on the internet models.
Wow, you look gorgeous in all of these, but I prefer the middle blue dress -stunning!
I’d go for the pocket one! It looks quite nice and I think you’ll care more about pockets than any slight differences in how flattering they are (since I think the blue looks pretty good anyway)
@noitsbecky - I’ve been impressed with the furniture, prices, and ideas here: Our Low-Maintenance, Multi-Function Deck Space | Young House Love.
We are also in the PNW and have been happy with these:
SKARPÖ Armchair, outdoor, white - IKEA - we have them in grey and have had them for about 7 years and they look good as new. We don’t bother to cover them, but they do stack well so it would be easy to cover them all together if you wanted. We just aren’t people who are going to cover our chairs it seems…
Aruba Chair - Modern Outdoor Furniture - Room & Board (found these on sale, I LOVE these and they stay in fabulous condition no matter where they are, we’ve had them for 7 years and after a hosing they look like new, but we got them for a bit cheaper and if price is a real concern, the dining tables at the younghouselove link would probably be good)
IKEA doesn’t still carry the lounge chair that we have, but it’s an aluminum frame with a mesh seat and it’s both very comfortable and seems to hold up fine sitting in our yard year in and out. It’s lightweight enough for me to move around by myself although we now rarely do. Their plastic rattan stuff looks like it might be similar.
We got our patio table on craigslist and it’s a fancy brand but it’s quite similar to this: SJÄLLAND Table, outdoor, dark gray/light gray, 611/4x351/4" - IKEA.
They are all nice, and my initial thought was about colour which the sage green rules out any opinions! Shape wise I think mauve, blue, pink. But also they are all gorgeous and much nicer than most bridesmaid dresses
My vote is blue, pink, mauve.
Mauve looks best, but blue is a close second and has pockets.
Isn’t it funny how style and opinion differ! I like the mauve the best!
No dress opinions but I am once again asking how it’s possible that everyone on this forum is so cute?! WHAT is going on
My vote is blue, followed by pink, then mauve. But they all look cute!
Aw, thanks. It’s really my amazing co-model for the pink dress, isn’t it
It totally is. My vote was the stripes but I realised that your co-star probably was not wearing an actual option
