5 below has what you need! Lol
Like I said, we even have spares lying around! Just needs selected and plugged in lol
Some of our popular gift exchange items: pack of candles, electric salt and pepper grinders, blankets (but have kind of gotten over played in our group so not popular anymore), laser tag kit, massage gun, chocolates, Starbucks gift card with a mug.
Does this product exist? Laundry detergent that is:
- free and clear OR unscented
- designed for cold water (I have extensively tested and this is a need)
- not a pod
Don’t care about:
- brand/marketing around it
- cost
- I already have a very complicated laundry system, so the solution is not a more complicated laundry system with more steps
I use the Kirkland Ultra clean. It’s a liquid that comes in a big jug. We have sensitive skin issues here and no problems with it.
Do they make a cold water version? Our Costco doesn’t carry a cold water version but maybe it’s available online?
I never thought about buying a laundry detergent designed for cold water! I’m curious about what you’ve noticed, because I feel like my clothes are never truly clean using standard detergent w/cold water.
It might help to know what you have tried?
I only do some clothes on cold, and that set has decreased lately, but I haven’t had a problem with Tide Free&Gentle that we’ve had the past months?
But I do cycle/alternate detergents and don’t always stick to the “free” ones.
I have a cursed washing machine, so I’m sure that’s part of it, but my clothes really hold on to smells and stains when I use regular detergent. Even when washing with vinegar and generous oxiclean every load.
I use these: https://tru.earth/products/tru-earth-eco-strips-fragrance-free-platinum?selling_plan=3321725179
(Also available on Amazon but their own page has more info)
They do say cold water and I do use mostly cold water depending on number of peed on clothes.
My water is not the trickiest I’ve had but not the best either. My biggest endorsement is that when I was out of borax for cloth diapers they still got them clean for at least a few loads. Because you have grumpy water I would say try a small pack before committing to a year worth. I’ve had grumpy water and it just overcomplicates a chore that is supposed to be almost automatic. Maybe move away from grumpy water
ETA I assume you have done afresh or similar machine cleaner. I also have to do a load with tea tree oil once a month and wipe the seal with cleaner once a month. Never wiped a machine seal until this one even though I know you’re supposed to
The only detergent I’ve been able to find that’s both unscented and designed for cold water is the tide free and clear brand, but the cold water version only comes in pods. I’m willing to try anything that doesn’t have a scent and is designed for cold water! I just genuinely haven’t been able to find it.
Stains is a big problem for me too. My washing machine is also cursed + insanely hard water. I feel like there is nothing out there that will actually get my clothes clean aside from washing everything super hot which then fades and shrinks my clothes
Yeah! I am not a perfect housecleaner but I do clean the washing machine monthly.
In general/not just Elle: I promise this is something I have worked very hard on, and my requirements exist for a reason.
I really recommend the tide cold water pods, lol! It does make a difference over here. We don’t have hard water though.
This is exactly what I want and can’t find! I said price was no consideration, so it seems like the reasonable solution is to pay a Canadian to ship it to me regularly.
when these are on sale, they are $10 CAD
Thank you for the recommendation! I will give those a try!
Yeah I assumed you had. Drama laundry machines and water are just dumb and annoying. I am so mad I now have to clean another appliance. Like dishwasher and clothes washer YOU are supposed to wash things washing is YOUR job! Why should I have to?
I’m going to say I was honestly confused by your question, because - it’s just tide! you can buy it anywhere! It’s not even ‘special detergent’ to me!
It’s wild to me that you can only get this in pod form.
