Day 29 is done. This was one of the longer days, 25 min or so, but not overly difficult.
Did the double today, with Day 22.
My elbows don’t seem to work in the way that she has us lowering to the ground. But I was pretty pleased with my balances. I had gotten into a bad habit of sinking into balances instead of using muscles to support and stretch both up and down. Hard to retrain.
Surprise side planks = enough sweat I stopped and took my shirt off
Today was hard because I hiked in the snow and am already tired. But only one more day!
Day 29 done!
I’m considering un-giving-up in February. Anyone want to join me?
Are you thinking of restarting with this year’s month, or picking another year’s as the standard? I think one of the things that worked in this thread was people doing the same series and commenting on their reactions to specific days.
Yes, for 20 days! And I have to do different yoga
I, for one, would like to try a different year. Maybe go back to the first one, whenever that was?
I was considering doing Breath (2021) next. I did it last year and I liked it.
But she also has a February calendar
I finished day 25! I’m glad it was a short one because my energy levels are low and I need to stretch them for a lot of things.
I can’t do that thing where you sit back on your heels at all. Hero’s pose? My feet just don’t bend far enough and never have, even when I was a kid doing ballet.
Just finished day 25 as well! It was quite a gentle one to me and indeed quite short.
I was gonna pick up where I left off, which I think was day… 11?
I just did day 30. I was actually pretty disappointed with this. She plays music and does her own yoga without speaking at all. You are supposed to do your own yoga alongside her. I found it really difficult because part of why I want to follow a video is so I have guidance. I can’t follow what she is doing without her voice promts, and I got really bored trying to do my own thing. I almost stopped at 12 minutes and 21 minutes but I kept going until she was done. Whenever I couldn’t think of what to do I just did downward dog, planks, child’s pose, bridge, or plow. I did those a lot.
I got a bit off track but I am determined to finish this. I did day 27 today. Home stretch!
Finished day 30. I knew, thanks to a YouTuber who reviewed all of Adriene’s 30 day challenges, that the last day would be Choose Your Own Adventure. I’m glad I had the warning, because I woudn’t have been able to come up with my own routine on the fly.
It’s barely still January on the east coast but WE DID IT
Yay!
Well I started while it was still January on the east coast. It is still January many places, so … I did it! Day 30 is complete. And I suppose I can’t complain about the poses today since I had to choose them.
I should go look for the February calendar. ETA: here it is: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLui6Eyny-Uzxyew3G11NEFpemvwrxQKCh
Perhaps we could do that for Feb, then do another 30-day challenge (Breathe?) in March? Then people who haven’t quite finished January yet will have time to do that and join for the start of the next 30 days.
finished day 23, so obviously I’m just running over a week behind the posted videos. I did not attempt the squat, because by the time I understood what she wanted me to be doing, I didn’t have enough time to get to that pose without fear of injury. Ditto I understand that it is possible to lift a leg in bridge, and I think I have done that before, but not today. And folding over the ankles. Really today was a large number of things that it takes me much longer to figure out how I’d do them. I almost got my heels down again. I’ll call that my win.
First day of the February calendar was only 10 minutes so I decided to go for it. It was mostly massage! Good choice me.
I wanted a little more so I skipped ahead to Feb 4 - no hands! I wanted to give my wrists a break. I’ll go back to Feb 1 on a day I need quick and gentle.
