Yoga With Adrienne - 30 Day Journey

I am a little sad about being four days behind. I know some people doubled up day 5 and 6 but that seems like a Very Bad Idea for a pregnant person who has already experienced a complication, so I am just going to enjoy that Day 5 was a little more restful and save 6 for tomorrow.

Another challenge I’m facing is that it is REALLY COLD down here. It is hard to take my socks off and yesterday I did the whole routine in long pants and a sweater. But if I do yoga upstairs, (1) I have to wait until the kids leave for school, which is later than I would otherwise start and (2) the cat might interfere, as I would not have a door.

Day 5 was the very stretchy one. I had no trouble with the deep squat and don’t need support in pigeon (I practice that one regularly even if I am not doing yoga and can even lift my hands to prayer), BUT I had a lot of trouble with the part where you cross one ankle over the other thigh and then interlace your fingers behind the thigh. I can only do this on one side! The other side I was hanging on but couldn’t interlace. I didn’t even used to think of this as a difficult stretch! Well, this is why it’s good to be yoga-ing.

Doubling up 7 and 8 would prob be ok  Half of 8 is just lying down!

Anuloma viloma is the other search term for alternate nostril breathing.

Today feels like another day. So maybe day three or four. I’ll do the really good bedtime routine from pregnancy and postpartum TV

I doubled up 8 and 9 and actually skipped some of 8 (I already do some breathing exercises and I skipped a lot of the laying down stuff so I could get to 9 sooner).

My basement is also very very cold. I have an electric space heater that I run while I’m doing it. I also start in a sweater with fluffy socks on and gradually strip layers as I warm up.

I won’t have time to double any other day of the week!

Can you point a space heater at yourself? Got any socks with good traction?

Also please take it as slow/limited as needed (including subbing the whole thing for a 30 min nap) and take care of FetusFeroz :two_hearts:

I do my yoga in my frigid attic and I start off draped in a blanket. As we do more stuff and I warm up I take it off, then I put it back on for the cooldown/shivasana.

FetusFeroz! I love it! We usually say “the cuckoo egg” because cuckoos lay their eggs in other birds’ nests and this is a donated embryo

Looks like I am benched for at least a few days again. Cuckoo egg unhappy with my activity level.

I just finished day 8 - first time I’ve done one before like 9pm. I may try to do another tonight to catch up, maybe I won’t.

I’m behind and just finished ab day - does anyone have any suggestions for how to relax my neck during ab stuff? Anytime I do ab work where I’m not supporting my head with my hands, I kind of clench through the front of my neck for support. I can’t figure out how NOT to do it, and it’s the limiting factor in some of these moves. Lol. Stopped by neck fatigue.

Day 6 complete. I wasn’t feeling well yesterday (sudden drops of energy and then much napping, with headache) so I decided not to risk it, dropping me another day behind. Got the folded towel position right for child pose. Hopefully I can replicate that again in the future.

Day 9 went quickly!

Sending supportive thoughts to those who are having trouble finding motivation. You can do it (if you want to)!

Be my yoga buddy today. I will do mine as soon as I can get off this couch.

It is done. I enjoy doing these in the morning more, but God damn, I so love yoga. I had forgotten. It is so good for my body and brain.

I feel this anytime I get into an actual consistent routine.

Finished. Telling you all that I finished was 85% of the reason I pushed though.
