I just got done with Day 8. I mis-read how long it was so I could only do half before I had to nurse L for her nap, but then I was able to finish after. My perpetually somewhat clogged sinuses could not handle the weird nose breathing. I did about half and then switched to normal breathing.

Day 8 in the books. Like Economista, my sinuses are always clogged so the alternating nostril breathing was weird. I managed to do it but made crazy nostril noises. I read a book over the summer Breath: The New Science of a Lost Art and apparently this style of breathing is super beneficial.
I was nearly asleep when she had us switch from our back to our side but the switch woke me up. Really was a very relaxing one!
I loved the Breath book.

I was thinking, would people be interested in a rotating exercise challenge? Like every month it’s a new exercise type? Because I feel like a lot of staying moving is learning what kind of things feel good for your body. And having fun.

I would certainly be interested in rotating exercise challenges! I am surprised by how well the online accountability here motivates me which is great because I have been struggling to find motivation to stay active throughout the pandemic.
Cool! Yeah I think the other accountability threads don’t work for me because everyone’s doing something different. But all of us doing something very specific together each day feels different.
Yes, definitely this! Even if it’s within a day or so (says the person who is two days behind currently). This is as close as I can come to group exercise classes these days and historically group exercise classes were the only thing that kept me consistent.
Did not catch up, but did Day 8 at bedtime. Except the nostril breathing that one nostril was too congested for. Will I find time for at least Day 9 today, or will I do dishes instead? Find out today!
Day 9 is done! Adrienne falls over when doing tree pose and that made me so happy I’m still very unstable with any kind of balance using my left side. Right side was solid as a rock.
Ooh, we’re finally doing balance poses? Maybe I’ll be inspired to get to this before bedtime today.
This is what caused me to nope out of Adriene entirely. This is what caused me to scream FU FU FU at the screen over and over again to the point that Boyfriend came rushing in to see what was wrong.
Do you by any chance remember in which ways it was beneficial? I may wanna look it up but not sure if ‘nostril breathing’ is gonna be a good Google search?
Also, just finished day 8 as yesterday my day was chaos. Won’t have time for another half hour of yoga today so hopefully will finish day 9 tomorrow and just get stuck one day behind until I can do a double session one day (or finish on Feb 1st).
