Oh, I also have a Darn Tough problem. Except it’s not really a problem because I’m not sorry.
I do get all black Darn Tough so when a dog eats one, I haven’t lost a whole pair.

All of my socks are darn tough or smartwool. My sock collection represents a chunk of cash. I have no regrets whatsoever.
Not quite all of mine are Darn Tough. I can wear them for most of three seasons, but if I have to wear closed shoes in the summer, it’s got to be lightweight cotton around here.
I do have one pair of Smartwool, but only because I found them at a thrift store. They aren’t black, so if Pickle eats one, they’re doomed.
If I wore shoes in summer I would own cotton socks, but I’m not likely to be doing things like cutting wood or walking more than 20 feet, so I’m a flip flop person.
I wear sandals as much as possible, but there’s inevitably a conference or something where I have to be equally stupid and fancy. Also I’m in some danger of needing to walk into a lab. Lately I’ve tried to avoid that by not working in the summer.
Popping candy chocolate orange: 8/10 weird sensation, tasty chocolate, worth it for the sheer wtf factor
Pic is from Walmart but we got these at the grocery store
Did you ever have pop rocks as a kid? I’m assuming it’s the same, but I’ve never had them in chocolate!
I did! But they’ve been wayyyy toned down since then, even brand name pop rocks are much less fizzy than they used to be imo.
Bummer, that makes them so much less cool!
I am a big fan of buying multiple pairs of socks in the same colour. I do not do that with my handmade wool socks. I should be less picky about mixing and matching handmade so that when they are not worth repairing any more I might still have the second sock, but I haven’t done that yet.
I do need to figure out a better solution for the summer. I need socks because we walk around a lot and I can’t/don’t do sandals, but Gap quality isn’t what it used to be. I’ve had to throw out 3 socks on this trip because I blew out the bottom of the heel. Wearing wool in 20C weather is silly.
This thread popped up in my notifications (apparently someone is catching up ) and reminded me I had a few additions.
I impulsively/finally splurged on a SURI brand electric toothbrush while shopping for Xmas gifts (and ended up giving it to myself because spouse’s other gift to me was managing the house move ). It is everything I hoped for. It is not the right device if you want a dozen modes (it just has two), but if other electric brushes Bother You, it is super quiet and feels like a gentle massage, not a jackhammer in your mouth. 5 stars, highly recommend. If you’re in the UK it might even be environmentally friendly, I’m not sure shipping back the brush heads from the US for recycling is carbon effective, but they try. It comes with a UV sanitizing USB charger case (excellent compact design). My sister asked if I got an iToothbrush based on its aesthetic
Item #2 was these high waisted cotton undies from Amazon. Perfect shape/compression, IMO. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H8BGKNW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Ahhh I need new underwear and these look great—even have something in the description about C-section scars. Thank you!
Circling back….these undies rule. Thank you!!!
I recently picked up some organic cotton v-necks from Gap to wear as undershirts, and these might just be the softest textiles I’ve ever owned.
I got some of those produce keeper containers when they were on sale at Costco, and they are amazing! I was honestly really skeptical, but a 1.5 pound bag of baby greens stayed good for 14 days in the large container! I rarely make it through an entire bag before they go bad within 5-ish days, so I was really impressed. They also kept my baby carrots from getting slimy, and I was able to cut and peel cucumbers ahead of time for the week without them drying out. Definitely a worthy $30 purchase
Link please!
These are the ones I got!

I believe they are going to be on sale this month in store, I saw in the sales flyer, not sure when it starts
Maybe I should ask if a friend is going to Costco! It seems much more expensive individually elsewhere.
Period undies reviews, I’ve recently expanded my collection beyond Thinx so I’m sharing what I’ve found.
The past 6 mos I have had heavier periods and more spotting than I have for a while. Also, something about body changes over time has made me tend to leak toward the front which is surprisingly hard to combat.
Period brand: these were very cheap at $9-12/pair for very absorbent ones. However, they do this by having a thick pad so they feel rather diapery. This was fine by me for home and overnight use. My bigger complaint with these is that the waist stitching holding the elastic on keeps coming off on the cotton ones. So if you don’t have or don’t want to exercise your sewing skills, stick with the polyester ones (which are stretchy, soft, and seem durable). This brand is fine getting thrown in the washer and dryer, which is nice for rewearing potential on the same cycle. Overall like 3 stars: do the job but you get what you pay for.
Innersy brand on Amazon: These are more “liner weight” and fully cotton/spandex. 3 packs ran me about $8/pair but I think 5pk comes out to less. They run small, I wish I had ordered a size up, and the hipsters are very low rise, but I like the high rise ones. Overall 4 stars, pretty good.
I think Thinx Air are still my overall winners.
I want to try aisle but they’re sooo pricey! More likely I will experiment with Bambody which are like $15/pair but advertise full front to back protection
Knix is another brand that I have tried for more of the liner-weight style. They are nice and stretchy but they roll down under my belly which I HATE. Hate hate hate. I have the same problem with any Thinx that are not the boy shorts (which are really boxer briefs, not “boy shorts”).
Thanks for the suggestions!
