Who got their FLU SHOT?

Glad you are feeling better. This is me too, though I usually only get a day of it.

I signed up for a time slot at work’s driveup flu shots, but it turns out my designated time is for October 21st, not September 21st. Messaged my doc about it and she feels strongly enough that she wants me to go get it done asap even though that means going to the grocery store.
I’m going to see if I can order an n95 mask that will get here before Thursday. The bright spot is that I will drag my husband along with and we will get $20 in grocery gift cards.

My kids and I are getting ours Thursday. I was going to wait until baby girl’s 18 month appointment on the 1st, but when I called to see about squeezing the rest of us in, the scheduler managed to fit us all into an earlier appointment.

Vaccines are good, I like not dying of things we can prevent!

Unfortunately my husband has gotten hives twice after getting the flu shot. This was maybe caused by excessive itchy weed pulling once, but it’s undetermined, and the doctor recommended he avoid it, so I guess it’s 75% herd immunity in our house. Not quite optimal, but we aren’t making it to 80% with only 4 people

Just got my shot and I have the sparkly band-aid to prove it! I don’t know if I’ve ever gotten my shot this early-usually I wait until October.

Oh hey, Walgreens lets you schedule online flu shot appointments! We’re going at 7 and 7:10 a.m. tomorrow, urghhhhh. Hopefully there won’t be a huge crowd at that hour.

Oh right, there’s a thread for this. Got mine today

We still don’t have info about when our clinic is opening :expressionless:

I did not, in fact, get my fucking flu shot. We scheduled our appointments online at Walgreens for 7 a.m. this morning. Went over there just now and they ran out yesterday.

This does not bode well.

Boyfriend can only get it done at Walgreens because of his insurance (and since he hasn’t found a new PCP since changing insurance, because pandemic). There are 2 others that we can start calling at 9, but that means I have to take time off of work and my boss is off today.

So yeah, guys, call first. I had no idea there’d already be a shortage and it has me really worried. I have to get this done before October in case I lose insurance.

Check with the local health department. It’s often free there. Even if it’s inconvenient to do it now, knowing you could get it for free will take one worry off your mind.

They do have clinics, but they are all on the other end of the city (which, to be fair, is an extremely poor and underserved community who really needs the access more than I do).

ETA: it looks like they will have mobile sites too but they aren’t open yet.

Complicating matters, I have to get it done on a Friday or a weekend due to the side effects. I may have to just say fuck it and work while feeling like death the next day or two. :frowning:

All the adults in my household have their flu shot! Have to wait for a shot clinic appointment at the ped for Bobbin but we have that scheduled. I feel very on top of this this year!

Partner and I made a special trip to the grocery store to get ours today. We were going to do it during groceries last week, but were both too hungry and cranky. Today we rewarded ourselves with lots of snacks.

Oh yeah, Latte got her first shot at her 9 month appointment! She needs a second next week.

We were going to get out shots a couple weeks ago, but then SirB had an out of town trip, and then the air was toxic. Hoping we can get both adults done early next week!

DH and I got ours on Wednesday at Publix. $10 gift card for each of us.

The best deal I’ve found here is $5 at Target. I wish my groceries did $10. I don’t think it is worth driving 50 miles (100 mi RT) to go to Publix, but I’m tempted!

It’s a gas card weekend too if you were planning on using those gift cards this weekend! You would get $50 of groceries plus a $50 gas card for $70 out of pocket. We were able to time it this way last year and it was awesome.

Hmph, Walgreens didn’t give us shit.

But - I didn’t feel too sick afterward this time! Just really really tired and sluggish. No body aches! Hooray!

My flu shot, and the decaf americano I got with my $5 cvs reward. Husbands went toward the car seat we bought on the combined trip. Could only use one per transaction

Eta and omg please ignore the weird turkey neck. The shot was high on my dominant arm and super hard to take a photo of.
