What about immigrants? All the Cantonese speakers I know also speak Mandarin, presumably because for immigration etc you are more educated = also fluent in Mandarin? I am just guessing.

Hm, well that kills my theory. Most Cantonese speakers I’ve known have also spoken Mandarin so I thought maybe. But I see a lot of things that do this, like reference “Asian” as if it’s a vertical and it’s like…that’s like 50+ countries? It doesn’t even make sense to look at it as a singular group IMO. So many huge disparities.

Correct! It’s definitely a US-centric group of people and they are def both rich so that makes sense. I just had no idea they were married and she’s this very famous super model and…IDK, it seems like I would have known this already? But I came across it kind of at random. Weird.
It’s like when I first found out Felicity Huffman and William H Macy were married. Rocked my world for a second.
There was a super awkward moment a few seasons ago on Project Runway where a contestant who was in the bottom made a crack about how she (Karlie Kloss) could wear it to dinner with the Krushers.

Yes I LOVED dirty money. So good. Vice I think it was recently did a piece on Snapchat in the UK being used to recruit kids for money laundering through their accounts. Small amounts and more people used so it doesn’t send up flags. Wild.
