Yeah, I watch a lot of business insider stuff on the global economy. And they occasionally do this series. I enjoy when it comes up.

Vice’s YouTube channel can be so hit and miss. Their pieces are weirdly without introduction and conclusion usually, but sometimes they’re super fascinating anyway. Not the best storytelling but some really interesting content.

Today I learned that Jack Black’s mother was an aerospace engineer.
Judith Love Cohen (August 16, 1933 – July 25, 2016) was an American aerospace engineer. Watching a period drama (Victoria) and wanted to check something for accuracy and learned all about this woman. What a life story, it’s beyond words.
Sara Forbes Bonetta (born Aina or Ina; 1843 – 15 August 1880), was ward and goddaughter of Queen Victoria. She was of the Egbado clan of the Yoruba people in West Africa, was orphaned during a war with the nearby Kingdom of Dahomey as a child, and later became enslaved to King Ghezo of Dahomey. In a remarkable twist of events, she was liberated from slavery by Captain Frederick E. Forbes of the British Royal Navy and became a goddaughter of Queen Victoria. She was married to Captain James Pins
At the age of five, Sarah, a princess born into a West African dynasty, was taken to England and presented to Queen Victoria as a “gift.”

Kate Warne (1833 – January 28, 1868) was an American law enforcement officer known as the first female detective, in 1856, in the Pinkerton Detective Agency and the United States.
Very little is known about Kate Warne prior to her working for Allan Pinkerton, except that she was born in Erin, Chemung County, New York and was a widow by age 23. Pinkerton, in his book The Spy of the Rebellion (1883), described her as:
[a] commanding person, with clear cut, expressive features ... a slender, bro...
One of the Pinkerton Agency's most accomplished detectives was Kate Warne, a woman who thwarted expectations in a male-dominated field.
