Canadian healthcare (especially in a smallish city) is like this. In rural areas it is much worse. I still prefer it to your system, but it’s not great.

Realized I can sterilize hand me down bottles in my instant pot. This is saving a lot of time.
Also, it means I had the energy/inspiration bump to sterilize stuff. Checked off to do list!

I am such a wizard today.
I got the slow drain in my bath tub fixed via vigorous plunging, and then solved the horrible scraping noise my car was making-- a tree branch wedged underneath-- right before it started raining.

Hand physio was incredibly helpful. She was knowledgeable and friendly, and found me a bunch of exercises to do using tools I can get at the dollar store. A lot of ‘ideally you would have this $$$ brace, but you can do the same thing with a $3 roll of physio tape. This is how you do it’.
Then she dipped my hands in paraffin until they stopped hurting and let me take a ten minute nap in the comfy chair.
I might marry my hand physio.

I got all my thank you notes typed and printed! Now it’s just the “arts and crafts” portion (cutting, gluing, stuffing envelopes) and I’ll be DONE soon.

Bigger kid is making paneer makhani for the first time. He had minimal supervision and it turned out very well.
Little dude is countersinking screws into the floor (that we will be covering with new floor sooner or later) to eliminate some epic squeaks.
Both of them learned new skills. I showed them the ropes then chilled in a comfortable chair.

I sent our holiday quotes (with the new higher pricing AND the holiday rates) to a potential new client and I’m wincing a LOT less than I was the first few times I sent quotes out with the new prices. I can do this (throws up in mouth slightly).
