Tiny Victories

Yay Chopsticks (also what an adorable name)! We’ve had a couple similar incidents and I’m grateful that evidently our cats like us and/or food enough to stick around.

Not long after we got him, a salesman came to the door and when I said the cat’s name, he said he had a cat named Sushi. If I ever get another one, I’m stealing that name!

I had a goldfish named Sushi. A cat ate him.

We arrived back from our trip to kittens (thanks @anomalily) and a puppy! We missed Willow. It was interesting that every hotel we stayed in was dog friendly. The only minor difficulties :grinning: are the flights between Australia and Europe and the quarantine requirements we’d face on our return.

The 3 shirts waiting to be ironed for 6 weeks got done in 15 minutes tonight! And hung up and put away!

I beat my quota today by $18, and never even left the county.

My ob approved a decongestant nasal spray for the next three days. Breathing feels so open! Head feels so much less hurt! Hoping to break this inflammatory cycle!

I got all the plants we bought into the ground before they died! They may still die after being planted.

Yes, but now it will be just the way of nature and totally not your fault if they die.

This is awesome.

I have vegan ice cream already in the house to soothe my sore throat.

I got up at 6 and got do much done. I’m getting a refund for the Halloween t shirt that never arrived. (so now I’m giving myself permission to find a Christmas t, since I had previously decided that one special occasion maternity shirt was okay). I’m going to make about 120 more a week. And I get a nap. It’s like a royal crown of victories

I like this. I lived in my Xmas maternity shirt most of the third trimester and it was so comfy.

Airline complimentary blankets from the thrift store are just about the perfect size for making DIY Great Dane coats. You need to cut out a curve for the neck opening and then just enough length to make a belly band. I am going to have to either make buttonholes (which I hate) or buy some Velcro.

Victory update: have just finished the first buttonhole I’ve made by hand since the 1970s. Will need one more but have to wait for the dog to wake up enough to do another fitting first, so I’m eating lunch. Have discovered I have more patience than I did in the 70s and thus don’t hate it quite as much. It’s just fiddly.

I remembered to open doors to cool the house and run the irrigation because it’s gonna be 33C today.

BOOM! I did the thing, per my mission set forth in Smacky’s journal on the other forum. I paid my rent. Ahead of schedule. Without the emergency fund. Without my support payment. Smacky said, “You’ve got this.” Yes, yes I do! If I hadn’t just driven for 12 straight hours, I would dance triumphantly.
