Nah, silliness aside, it’s really not complicated. This time I chunked up 4 large apples, did a 12oz bag of cranberries, 2 Tbsp maple syrup, and some good shakes of pie spices. I add a splash of water (1/4 cup?) then let it cook over medium heat, stirring periodically for a good 30-60 min. Depends on how mealy vs firm the apples are. I cook it covered most of the time, but toward the end may remove the lid if it’s a particularly juicy batch. Pretty dang easy! And I do the same recipe but subbing rhubarb for cranberries in the spring.
I usually do less maple syrup, these were very tart apples this time! Just as an FYI. But just adjust to taste. It tastes great basically no matter what you do, haha.
Yay! Yeah it’s tasty beyond the effort it takes haha. And I do like that it’s vegan and gluten free, makes it a super easy side dish to take anywhere. Can be super cheap when everything is bought on sale, too.
Me, too! I mean, I didn’t get the new ID today, but I did try it on a gate that my old ID wouldn’t open. It worked! This opens up some free-to-me parking for when I want to play in a certain part of town.
Day 2 of a blizzard, with high winds overnight. Trees and big branches have come down all over the city, squishing houses and cars. One such big branch fell against my house, but missed the roof. It’s all very dramatic but we are warm and safe.
A few days ago, I finally set up an auto 10% paycheck deduction to my emergency savings account, and the first one went through. A good first step to building up more savings without having to think about it.
I skipped a major important social event in favour of sleep and I am currently experiencing a deep sense of satisfaction at having made the right choice.
I found a cat treat that my vet actually approved for Tiny Cat’s ridiculous locked down diet. Today I will try giving her a cat treat for the first time in almost a year.
