I have 2 laundry baskets (one on each floor), 2 picnic baskets I use to hold sewing supplies and things that need mending, a small basket is my “trash” for the lint atop the dryer, the largest picnic basket I own is under my kitchen table with root veggies in it (garlic, shallots, onion, sweet potato, potato), the cat’s toys are in a basket, and, and…

It works for my brain sooooo good. It’s both lazy, but also the laziness is size limited- I do finally deal with it when it gets too full. It builds in a cue to deal with the floordrobe. And I freed myself from guilt- if it’s too full, I just pick which half or more to huck into the laundry basket. That more than anything keeps my room tidy 
(I mean, for my own part- it’s that and a partner who is also on board)

I used to actually! And then I had children. And for a long time my oldest enjoyed the game “get thrown with ballistic force against the head board and pillows”. My beautiful tidying suffered. The PJs found a new home, where they have since stayed

We’ve fixed our electricity cost for the next 18 months. We can buy out of the fixed tariff for £75 and I hope that will be the best option at some point next year if prices fall, but it’s reassuring to know we can have two winters with no further increase.
Energy prices are capped in the UK and adjusted at the start of every quarter, the current prediction is for a 25% rise in January. Some quick maths showed fixing at the current price would save us at least £300 in the first quarter of next year and potentially more if we have a very cold winter, so at the point the exit fees on the various fixed options started to feel negligible.
When we started looking at all the tariffs it felt like one of the maths problems we used to get at school with multiple variables and we knew how to assess it. I hope children are still taught that way because it’s a valuable life skill to have!

My granddaughter is a senior in high school and her math class is very oriented to figuring things like that out. I was a bit surprised but happy when she told me about it. It seems much more useful than something like calculus for the type of career that suits her.
