Tiny Victories

I was worried I put one too many ice cubes in my tea, but it was the perfect temperature. Still getting to “know” my new insulated mug.

We have not 1 like I thought but 3 potential new monarch butterflies in the yard. I knew we had one chrysalis, but discovered another in the same raised bed today. When I checked on them this afternoon, there’s another “frozen” monarch caterpillar on the side of the bed. They “freeze,” then sort of glaze over, then it’s a chrysalis. :butterfly:

That little spark of joy from getting a little sniff of delicious perfume off my wrist during a very stressful meeting.

99% of canning finished for the year. Only pickled beets to do…and they can wait.

Wow. My new-ish neighbors across the street just brought me a huge “thank you” gift basket. I’ve met him a few times but this is the first time I’ve met her. My driveway is directly across from where they park a camper in their fenced yard and it’s a busy street so it’s hard to just back in. I’ve told them to use my driveway any time they want to, I don’t care at all. It’s all this stuff (they grew the vegetables) plus a $50 restaurant card plus one of those cards that schools sell with business discounts on them. Truthfully I’m a little shocked at what they spent on it all just to use my driveway occasionally, but it’s incredibly sweet. Not that it compares, but I definitely need to take them some flowers because they do not grow any.

That’s so sweet! And the basket it all came in is so nice! I’d be the most stoked about the basket.

Literally such a good basket :joy:

But what does one do with a theoretically great basket when one isn’t really a basket person? If I use it to store blankets it will be a cat bed which is fine I guess.

Perhaps you hold onto it until you yourself are ready to give someone a thank you basket!

The absolute first thing I thought of!

I looked around my house. I have baskets for holding shoes, blankets, plants, cat toys, as a garbage pail in a place that doesn’t get any yucky-type garbage, one I keep empty because Dipper likes to sleep in it, and one hanging on a nail on the wall because I think it looks cute.

These are just the baskets. The bins are what goes inside of closets and on shelves. I just love a container!
