I would be lying if I said I don’t visit the train museum with my dad when he’s in town, love me some good steam engine sightings and steam whooshes

I’ve always liked trains well enough, but my daughters’ obsession with Thomas is starting to lightly rub off on me 
we’ve gotten some good historical books about trains now too and that’s been a lot of fun.

I went to send my friend a link of something I purchased from Lowes, realized the price had dropped by $85 since I purchased it 3 days ago. I used the customer service chat and within 10 minutes I was refunded $90 (including taxes)!

Turns out one of my busy neighborhood mom friends was totally game for an absurdly early AM walk yesterday. It was a ton of fun. And she wants to try and do it weekly! Hooray for deepening friendships and hooray for adding more social time to my life. And hooray for an entire hour where children didn’t interrupt our conversation a single time!

I took the cards out of my “dessert” section and divided them into a logical order so that I don’t have to go through EVERY CARD to find the one I want… fruit desserts, cakes, cookies, misc. Doesn’t sound like much, but there’s about 100 cards in the bigger section (desserts) and it would take flipping thru most of them to find a recipe I wanted… like the fruit dump cake I made this morning.

I have physical folders of recipes that were copied from library books or printed from the internet.

I have a recipe box that I gave my grandpa I think 50 years ago. My grandma gave it back to me when I was a teenager. I also have a binder with those plastic sheet protectors for the things I print online.

I use one too! I love seeing recipes written in my mom’s and grandma’s hands. I will keep those cards til my last day.

This is what I do, the binder and page protectors. Until earlier this year, all my recipes were in my Manila envelope that paperwork was given to me at 12th grade graduation 
that’s… been a bit. Frankly incredible that hasn’t dissolved from sheer use and abuse.
I dream of some day making nice cards and a box or binder, but this is where I’m at for now!

I have a library card catalog. It’s my planner, recipe card file, address book, etc. All of it in one location.
I also still have 2 binders of recipes/info. and far too many cookbooks!

Last time I tackled a stack of paper boxes, I found the study sheets for my 8th grade constitution test. I knew I’d kept them thru college, but had NO idea that I was still hauling them around in my 70s.
They got recycled, instantly.

I do not currently need more surgery. Cancer was contained in the removed nodule and the least invasive type. Back to just monitoring.
