For my birthday last month my DH got me a new light fixture (I picked it out). Got it up yesterday and pretty happy with it.

I cleaned my room so good that my BF noticed (he’s pretty clutter-blind). Not that I did it for him, but the validation felt nice.
The TV is that I finally put everything away & donated anything that didn’t fit since downsizing.

I’ve been using the same purse for many, many years. Like, absolutely pre-covid, but really who knows how many years before. I hate buying purses because apparently I’m very picky about them. First it was changed so I didn’t buy one, then it was discontinued. I found a brand new original style one on eBay! I’ve looked at approximately a million different ones online but none were just right. I’m very excited.

I love it when that happens! I have a constant search for a specific sleeveless top and sandals since I know they work really well but aren’t available anymore in stores.

I got the seeds and soil in the seed starting trays and didn’t make a total disaster of a mess. I planned for and have (mostly) dealt with the resulting dirt, dribbles of water, etc. Go me!
Also moved all the seeds, etc. onto the folding rack. The seeds, the equipment, etc. is mostly all in one place.

I’m doing a bunch of small random cleaning things that rarely get done. I removed the stove drawer and vacuumed up so much cat hair. I removed everything from underneath the kitchen sink and cleaned it, tossed some stuff, and organized it. I scrubbed the microwave and wiped the refrigerator shelves down. I’m really good at putting things in their proper places and surface cleaning, but deeper stuff doesn’t get noticed. Apparently I never look inside the microwave?

I’m the same way. I’m tidy but don’t enjoy that project cleaning type of stuff. I will do it, eventually, but ugh. And the microwave in my new house is above the stove so to clean the inside I have to get out the step stool so I can reach. I just cleaned it yesterday and was thinking about how much less often I clean it now that I have to get on a stool to do it. In reality, it’s not that big of a deal. But somehow it feels like too much most of the time.

Tonight’s planned menu is sweet potato soup/ham sandwiches. I had 4 sweet potatoes. One of them was mushy so went into the compost bin. Would I have enough? Yes… SCORE! No more sweet potatoes in the basket, 1 in the compost bucket, and enough for dinner too.

My nieces Mexican husband has a citizenship interview in late May! Finally! They filed papers 2.5 years ago, 2 months after they got married. He’s never been to the US as he’s not allowed to. She’s been visiting him there about 3x a year when he’s home from working on cruise ships. He should be here by mid June.

I’m don’t generally spend a lot of time in the kitchen but today I was in the mood to. Crockpot roast, pineapple upside down cake and english muffin bread were made! I will take some of each to my mom tomorrow.
