Found the exact mermaid book I was looking for and confirmed B&N is a good place to wander when a baby is napping in a carrier on you. The foxtrot employee tried to shame me about going to B&N instead of the local, Myopic, but they don’t have kids books about mermaids, so

Foxtrot is this bodega style business in Chicago that dramatically closed and then some of the locations reopened. It was just a guy who took my coffee order.

DH was on a search for some of his gear, finally found it in the attic, in plain sight, the box was bigger than he remembered…
But in the process, he found 3 boxes for hardware/gear we no longer own. I NEVER get rid of that stuff, because he’s the gear head and manages all of that, so I only know what’s in plain sight, but not what we actually still own…
So – YEAH! One less box of gear in the attic and 3 fewer empty boxes too!

I forgot. DH funded refilling my separate account. It’s a set aside for “we can’t do it otherwise” and ultimately for burying us. I had about 1/2 the amount needed to bury both of us, and between the window problems and the painter problems and the car problems last year, we used about 1/2 of what I had set aside. DH replaced that!

I figured out a better way to set up the clothes drying rack in the bathroom, and now we can get past it without having to lift it up while inching past and pressing against the sink

we knew where the duvet cover and the duvet were, and we had access to laundry, so we have a bed cover and it isn’t musty

I was feeling grumpy because the dogs skin issues seem to be having a flareup and both of the veterinary dermatologists within 100 miles are booked out nearly a year per the last time I called them.
And then I was like…. 
Did I make an appointment last year when I called them??. Because that seems like something I would do, just in case…
Searched in my email inbox and my gosh, I did – she has an appointment in four weeks.
Tiny victory indeed.

My sister-in-law had her first baby this morning!
The baby has been breech for the last month and a half, so they had scheduled a c-section on Sept 1st. Her water broke at like 2:30 this morning, and by 6 am they were in recovery with a 5 lb 9 oz baby with LOTS of hair
