August rainy early morning walk :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: I saw a mama raccoon and her 5 babies, a lil snake, and a fledgling red tail hawk “flying” (flap throwing itself, lol) between trees. This summer has felt way more like the PNW summers of my youth and it’s been amazing.

I will never forget my husband saying how much he admires the self control that has me putting myself to bed more or less on time every night but then adding, “I mean, it sounds terrible.” And then I went to bed and he stayed up and watched a whole ass movie.

I’ve cleaned almost all the windows in our house this week and now just keep wandering around admiring them.

The upstairs bedroom ones are particularly satisfying as they were filthy and I got to do the fancy 180 degree flip so they can be cleaned from inside. I did still need a stool to reach the tops but that’s because I’m only 5’ 1" :grinning:

Window cleaning can be so satisfying. Hurray for more light and clear views and the smugness of a job well done.

Follow-up tiny victory: a very good friend texted today that it’s her last day in the US and she has a little extra suitcase space if there’s anything I need so now I have even more gummy clusters coming my way

I was going to buy seeds for the fall garden today but then remembered how @Panda introduced me to the free seed library really close to my house!

I got lettuce, radish, tatsoi, pole beans, and sunflower (for next year), and some assorted wildflower packs.

I was going to buy lettuce, radish, spinach, peas, and cucumbers but now I’ll just try with what I got and see what happens!

The pole beans have 63 days until maturity and I have 55-60 days until first frost so I’ll be living on the edge but I have the space and everything is an experiment anyways! I’ll only plant a couple of the seeds and leave the rest for next year.

My green beans have loved the run of hot weather and I am positively drowning in delicately tender lil beans.
