The tile crew is here to work on the bathroom! The original timeline had them starting tile (checks calendar)…4 weeks ago. So glad we are making progress again on this project!

Was thinking over a big life decision in a Lyft and accidentally left my keys in the car because I was so distracted. Called a Lyft to go home and it happened to be the same driver, who had my keys! He wasn’t that excited about it but I was.
Does this mean the universe is telling me to stick with the life decision?

Saw my first hummingbird in my front yard today!!
(This is an achievement considering that before this year, the front yard was a hellscape of rocks, landscape fabric, and struggling Kentucky bluegrass - absolutely nothing for hummingbirds or any pollinators)

After struggling to get Mr. Kitty to drink water on his own, I had resorted to holding his water bowl in my hands, over the bathroom sink, in order to keep him hydrated. This is problematic if I ever want to leave the house. I finally found a set up he is satisfied with drinking from on his own.

I made a couscous salad as part of dinner last night and it made way more than I expected, then the night before that I made roasted red pepper/sun dried tomato paninis but had extra ingredients. All of this led to a top tier lunch today, yum.

I finally finished refilling our emergency fund! Just took a 3 paycheque month. The hot water heater & water mains issues over the past couple of months slowed us down but did not defeat us

We have worked hard to become more heat acclimated this summer! I am really proud of us for only turning on the AC when the house gets to the 79/80 range but for the most part we have been managing with fans and windows.
It has been a more mild summer here than previous years but we are using the AC way less than when we kept the house at 72/74!

I forced myself to go to bed early and didn’t spend an hour awake from 3-4 like the last couple nights. I was the first one awake in the house and it was so nice.

Melatonin in the evening (not sure how available it is over there) and school starts next week so I have to start being up at 6am on a regular basis soon.
And I live with morning people - Kiddo just got himself up at 6:15. It’s normal for Mr. Meer to wake up at 5:30 and him sneaking out wakes me up sometimes but in a sleepy useless lump kind of way where I’m neither asleep nor fully awake. Getting Kiddo back on school schedule is pretty easy, getting me back on school schedule sucks.
