Went to a yarn sale and didn’t buy a thing!
We filed our taxes!! Wahooo!
We paid so much money, and I hope we pay more next year.
My grandpa used to say this every tax season and I have adopted it myself. Our taxes do such amazing things for us and if I’m paying more next year that means we are making more money and having more success. One small nudge to an abundance mindset for our family.
I used to temp in a tax office and I remember people complaining about tax bills that were more than my annual income and internally being like, dude, I am not the right audience for this! Congrats on a prosperous year for your family!
Second tiny victory: a friend’s birthday was yesterday. We were hanging at their condo and were going to order dinner in. The cost was looking to be $300-350 for 8 people after delivery and tip. I checked my grocery delivery app (Safeway) and they had a slot for 45 mins from time of order. I asked the birthday person and everyone if they would be okay with me doing a grocery delivery and making tacos for everyone instead of ordering food. Total cost was $45 for everything including the $2 delivery fee for delicious tacos that fed us all with leftovers! Basically one person’s share of the original plan.
That’s a huge victory - and probably better food!
I’m probably doxxing myself a smidge too much so I might delete this later but y’all I’m so proud of my hometown. There’s like 900 year round residents
I saw a few articles about small towns and it gave me so much hope. Keep going
TC: there’s a huge inflamed zit under my lip.
TV: I remembered that I have these zit sticky dots and I put one on it!
I’ve been trying to learn to French braid my hair forever, and tonight it finally clicked! I’m so excited to have a new hair style option (after I practice a little more ) My go to high ponytail causes a lot of breakage that seems to have gotten worse lately, but I can’t stand having my hair down or in my face. French braid pigtails are so much gentler on my hair and I love the way they look!
I used to French braid my hair often. The trick to learning was to never look in the mirror!
You can just French braid bits and then clip them too, leaving the rest unbraided. So many options!
On five hours of sleep (because at a certain point my body just decided “nah” after a minor noise woke me up) I managed to get the grocery list together and do the shopping. I completely forgot to bring bags with me to Aldi but just directly loaded everything into my car. Some food prep has to happen but it can all happen tomorrow, tonight is brinner.
People can surprise you. They can do one easy tiny good thing
Oooh. I was wondering the move to come after he attended the funeral of the second kid who passed in Texas. Glad it was a good one.
Is it maybe too little too late? Yeah but I’m trying to focus on the positive lol
Oh certainly. And I’m ignoring he hasn’t changed his tune on bird flu vaccinating American flocks. But I’ll take the wins I get haha.
And he is still promoting quacks and their bad approaches as an alternative
At dr today will ask if she thinks I should get a booster (I do have both shots because my mom was on top of things and took me in as a teen when recos changed)
Happy thing, he is bowing to the pressure, just need to keep it up
But he said this once before after the first kid died, then backpedaled back to cod liver oil. I guess the one non-worm infested brain cell fires every once in awhile, but nowhere near often enough.
I mean. I get that. I was just celebrating along with the stated victory.
I am caught up (got caught up in HS), but husband I am pretty sure is in the gap that missed the extra booster.
He asked the Dr last week, and she gave him a requisition for a Measles titer. Even though I know I’m caught up, I’m thinking I should ask the same.
Shadowy one had only had one shot and titer came back as no coverage, so did the double catch up, plus shingles. Lots of shots this year
