Work is still being idiotic about closing the site, but since they’re going to go through and trash everything left in the cubicle area tomorrow I went through after most everyone was gone and collected as many leftover rolls of tape, decent scissors, various-colored sharpies, boxes of kleenex, post-its, and 0.5 pencils/lead (not as many of those left as I might have liked, most of the guys seem to use 0.7/0.9) as I could find. The first half of the list goes with the outreach stuff since even for electronics tape and scissors come up a weird amount and sharpies work to decorate most everything, and the second half will keep me supplied for a while. Plus I also got an ESD desk and chair and a couple fancy power supplies, several new monitors, enough cabling to redo my house and a couple others (admittedly most of that is destined for the local makerspace), and a cabinet and rolling cart for the garage. Oh, and also 4 random rolls of wrapping paper that was there for, presumably, reasons.

I had coworkers that would bring gifts to work because it was the easiest place to hide them from children (and possibly spouses). In December it was not unusual that one table in a random weird corner became a gift wrapping station for people on their lunch breaks.
That’s an excellent haul for the outreach group though, good thinking!

Finished our taxes and saved $15 by doing it tonight instead of tomorrow, when the price goes up! (I know there are better companies but Marmalade likes using this one because it has all our info from previous years for stock loss carryovers and stuff.)
