After missing my dad’s birthday and mother’s day I got a card in the mail in time for father’s day. I’m not the worst progeny of all time!
Brushed the dog and clipped all his nails.
The nails are NOT short yet, but all are a little shorter.
I haven’t seen any of my friends in more than a week. Maybe two weeks? Anyways, my friend showed up and we lay in my bed and chatted for a couple of hours. At the end she said that she was done being social and wanted to be alone, and took off. It was perfect.
Even though I’m super tired and kinda sick, I made a healthy dinner tonight with three serves of leftovers, and I scrounged up the energy to pop a batch of granola in the oven too. Victory!! Tomorrow-HaH will be happy with me.
When I left work at 9:45 pm I had a flat bike tire. Changed that sucker and was on the road in under 15 minutes. Always carry spare tubes, my cycling friends!
I had breakfast in bed for the first time in living memory. Quince jelly on toast and a long black coffee, so good!
My friends are bringing their newborn over.
Got up the nerve to fire off an email to an adaptive athletes group in my new city. Gahhhh!
Coffee exists. I love coffee.
Using paid sick leave with a slight cold. I could work but I don’t want to. And I’m positive my colleagues don’t want me there sniffling and being a large disease vector.
I made ugly but delicious cookies with chocolate icing
Today was better and more normal than yesterday.
Today started out awful (nightmare airbnb guests, lots of pain) but then my friends came over with their 8 lb tiny human who slept in my arms, then I got a massage, then they were playing nonstop elton john at the taco place. In the end I snuggled my dudes and everything was good.
Edited to add tiny human.
Had six kids under six at our place this arvo while adults drank red wine and I didn’t lose my shit at all the noise.
That’s impressive!
From Friday:
Slept in till after noon (day off), tasty breakfast, did 4 loads of laundry and folded like 6 loads (leftover from 2 weeks ago after camping >_>) and most importantly…
Called my dental insurance and picked a dentist! I was going to make an appointment but can’t until my card hikes in. Still, the figuring out new insurance procedures and researching offices was the real hurdle.
I hate changing healthcare and haircut providers so much…
Yoga and thai food with a good friend. A bin of stuff sorted out so there is less crap in my room. Winning at life.
It’s a beautiful day and I walked to work.
I just noticed this typo and find it hilarious. I suppose it is “hiking in” since it’s coming by snail mail and not email. For record, I meant “card comes in,” before autocorrect.
