Tiny Victories

My 4.5 year old decided he likes to do dishes, and he actually does a decent job most of the time :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

My five year old just asked to sit on my lap and cuddle. This happens more rarely as he gets bigger and it was probably just because I had the warm fuzzy blanket, but I’ll take all the cuddles I can get.

I have done several unpleasant adulting tasks this weekend including one that involved a Phone Call to an Actual Person, EW.

Saw my friends parents on the weekend (they were at my mums birthday party) and they kept deadnaming my friend. I corrected them everytime they did it.

Today my friend messages to say their parents are now using their chosen name because I “scolded them”

Obviously their parents should have just stopped deadnaming them last year when they told everyone of their new name, but I am happy that I have helped my friend a little

I signed up for a credit card with a massive sign-up bonus because I have high dental expenses (and potentially one or two other big ticket things) in the near future.

The victory is that I thought to do this with enough lead time that I’ll have the card available to pay for the thing(s) instead of at the last minute when the card may not come in time & the whole thing doesn’t work out.

Vacuuming

Vacuuming is not a victory. Have vacuumed is the only victory.

Actually exercised today.

Bonus points: watched the entire sunset while I did so.

Ok - vacuumed.

I am a DIY master. Also major procrastinator. Our car keys have been beeping at us for a year that the battery was running low. Well, mine died right as we got to daycare this morning. I popped into a cafe to watch an instruction video while Ponder & Duckling did drop-off. Noted the battery required, bought it at the store next door, and replaced it using the end of a fork to open the key, adorable keychain character to pop out the battery and a pair of scissors borrowed from the cafe to open the new battery packaging. All before Ponder turned up to have an iced coffee!

My CVS installed self checkout machines. Now I can do the thing where I buy something that gets me extra care bucks and then immediately do a separate transaction to use them on the rest of my stuff. I wouldn’t do it with a real cashier because I’d feel like an annoying jerk. But at a self checkout with no line behind me? Bring on the extra care bucks hacking!

Also the CVS had 75% off Reese’s Christmas trees. “Had” because I bought them all.

House work AND painting should be done tomorrow.

Husbands out of town assignment he got last minute today from a coworker has now been cancelled. He already got MASSIVE kudos from his boss, so he got all the props and now doesn’t have to go :joy: literally perfect haha

I slept pretty well last night! What changed? I took a really hard workout class.

(TC: Apparently I have to work out hard in order to sleep, and I can’t work out this hard every day. I am SO sore right now.)
