Tiny Victories

Two new airbnb bookings, each over a month long. We have zero vacant nights until the end of July.
Long bookings are super easy. I’m being paid for nothing. My favourite thing to be paid for.

Did grocery pick up today. I said on here somewhere at the last one that my goal was to go four weeks between shops. Today was four weeks to the day, and we could’ve gone longer. If all this ever ends, I think grocery shopping is going to get to be a much smaller part of my life. This is a fine state of affairs.

I feel like a slug today even though my hair is super cute and I put on lipstick in a failed attempt to cheer me up.

Apparently Zoom video is extremely kind to my features, got some unexpected compliments from co-workers today and that was nice :purple_heart:

Mr. Meer cleared out the garage over the past couple weekends and I put a few things up on the various Freecycle/Craigslist sites. One items I wasn’t sure anyone would want but someone took it today, woo!

I just put in an order for 2 lbs of yeast, 25 lbs of cornmeal, and 25 lbs of masa harina with my food shop next door. Yeast at least seems to be guaranteed for Thursday pickup.

Husband has agreed to consider hot tub! Quick y’all, I need help in finding out info about How Great Hot Tubs Are, Maintenance is Totally Easy, and also whatever you can find that will support No, It Will Not Break Constantly.

The amount of work I have to do to counter act everything he’s heard from his parents about their hot tub is staggering. Never mind that his folks overbought their tub, installed it poorly and in a space that has frequent saltwater floods and are generally trash at taking care of things.

They’re a nightmare and break constantly :joy: both husband and I had them growing up, and they’re on the strict NO list for our house hunt.

Didn’t someone say someplace around here that newer ones are less work than the old ones?

I want a hot tub. I want it to use salt water instead of bad chemicals. Someone tell me this is a great idea.

Think of the pain relief! You would be very happy when you visited to skate.

That would be lovely if so. Although the chemicals and maintenance aren’t fun either. Although the Bromine one we had instead of chlorine wasn’t AS bad, but still wasn’t fun. Made our garage always smell.

They are WAY easier now I heard. SSO had one growing up (and of course made a computer program to calculate out the chemicals and stuff). but apparently the new ones are significantly less maintenance.

Another option if you don’t care about being social: a WHIRLPOOL in your bathroom.

That was part of the original 5 year plan, but we’re doing this big backyard reno now and it seems like the perfect time to just buy one and get it over with. A whirlpool in our bathroom involves another big construction project.

Even just better access panels would make them way easier hahaha

On the other hand, my family has had the same hot tub for 25 years!! It’s needed a few repairs here and there and requires diligence for chemicals and cleaning, but you can luck out and it’s been a big part of my dad’s ability to cope with stress.

ETA: I’m not sure on my math. But at least 20 years!!
