Tiny Victories

I feel like Pancake is the one who least needs a sweater :joy_cat:

I am not sure it is a nice, cat loving thing to attempt to put a sweater on a cat. Might be rough on the human, too.

Let’s see if this works… https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wabXRJokWBKY6Ap41CAkLNBs8t26p5iN/view?usp=drivesdk

Got it! Thanks! TBD whether the cats will appreciate it :smile_cat:

TV: SirB actually DID get the full bonus we had calculated! (I was just a dingus and forgot taxes and 401k were taken out lol!)

Oh, taxes and 401K can divert a LOT of bonus $$$$! I’m glad it was the full bonus!

Yeah I didn’t realize it would contribute to the 401k and they withheld 33% for taxes :scream: so it looked a LOT lower and I assumed we miscalculated. Didn’t help that SirB’s work computer was having issues so we couldn’t see a pay stub until today!

Yes - the tax rate is a shocker! I have fond memories of bonuses…

I went for a hard 6 mile hike yesterday and aside from a cactus attack (see tiny complaints) my body is feeling…fine/normal/not hurt? This is the longest hike I’ve been able to do in at least 2 years. If I could start doing things like this again without painful consequences, it would be like…life changing for me mentally/emotionally/physically.

I finally did a cash out of my Prolific account! Should have done this before the exchange rate tanked. But $ into my account.

AND - the state has already processed the tax refund !!! (they are usually very slow - even with e-filing and direct deposit). Still waiting on the feds.

This is normal (or so I hear about this strange place called Planet Bonus), but you’ll get it back if your actual tax rate is lower.

I am adulting. This means I had an adult beverage with dinner, just finished ice cream that I put on the grocery list like an adult and paid for with my adult money and am reading an adult novel (romance). I wish all adulting was this nice.

I think it is pushing 70 here today too and I have the day off and I am soaking up the sun like a goddamned lizard on a rock.

Boyfriend and I took a walk and found that there is a TINY scrap of lakefront that a) is not blocked off by police barriers and b) apparently no one knows about. So I got to see the lake today, and there were like 2 other people there, very far away. The water looked very clear. Was that in violation of the spirit of the law? Probably. My rule is that I will not move aside or cross a barrier (unlike half of this city, apparently) , but if something’s not blocked off or patrolled and there’s no one there, then YES I am going to take part in one of my main mental health care activities, which is being by the lake.

Finally, my compost looks like compost and there was a decent amount of it. Bagged compost is expensive! I am glad that I don’t think I have to buy another bag (I did buy one, before the lockdown when it was still snowing and really too cold to tell whether the compost had broken down enough). I put it all over the backyard raised bed and in the tomato pots. It might be warm enough next week to put tomatoes in!

AAAAAA, you guys, from time to time, VERY rarely, I qualify for a focus test where they send you a product to try. Did one on dish detergent probably around January. I just found that I qualified for a cat treats study that pays… $250. Holy shit. I have done studies with this company before so I am fairly sure that’s not a scam, they do pay in a relatively reasonable time frame.
(For contrast, the dish soap one paid $35 and that is more normal of an amount to get for this stuff.)

And money has happened. Wonders never cease. They even took out taxes like they were supposed to do.
