Costco eggnog diluted 1:1 with milk makes a tasty creamer for coffee!

I got in about 13 miles on my bike today. Nothing to toot about normally, but it’s been raining/sleeting here with NO signs of the direct sun for like… about five days! Blech.

Today the sun sort of came out and I was like “fork it” and threw some layers on and just did my best to avoid the puddles. Ahhhh, it felt SO GOOD.

I got to hold a super cute 2-day old baby. Newborns are so sweet and cuddly!

And then her parents gave me the security disabler key to their house so that we can do laundry while they’re still at the hospital (we’ve been doing it at their place while we renovate). Yay for clean clothes!

I have eighteen new pairs of socks that all match each other.

This is absolutely fabulous. Can you throw out all the others? Imagine a world where you have to sort no socks…

They reasonably match the old ones aside from the almost-holes, but now I definitely have enough socks to get through a week.

I am noticeably more fit and capable than when I started going to the gym, a few months ago. I don’t usually feel positively about my body so this is cool.

I said no to my sister’s request to have us over to their place for dinner on the 24th.

Things feel very bad and no good, so I’m trying hard to find some tiny victories. I’m also emotionally very unstable so maybe no comments on this?

I put my phone down for a cumulative total of 1h plus a floor nap today

I found some cards, even though they aren’t the right cards and wrote them and addressed them

I did a declutter yesterday of pens and markers that are dead, food that will never be eaten, and verified that the bathroom has nothing to declutter

I reached out to family and friends further out in the circle than me and they let me pour out feelings in their general direction

I taped up 5 Christmas cards and 1 pre baby card on their respective walls

I emailed Ramit Sethi that his ebook wasn’t working and got a prompt response/will get a readable book.

I did half the huge gigantic pile of dishes in the kitchen today.

Small complaint: I have to use plastic gloves to do the dishes, otherwise my skin dries out and I stop doing dishes. I can’t find an eco friendly option.

We used to use waxed canvas (or cotton) for waterproofing. It’s not as impregnable as plastic, but the wax itself would moisturize your hands a bit. I’m sure one can’t buy waxed cotton gloves anymore, but the DIY version has always been to rub cotton or canvas with candle stubs or a block of paraffin. You have to do that anyway with a bought item because it loses wax over time.

2019 has been the most expensive year of my life but I still got 10% closer to my NW goal. At this rate I will get to it in 5 years.

I got a new computer at work and it allowed me to finagle my desk top layout. I have inches more space now! INCHES! (Said like the “Dozens of us! DOZENS!” from Arrested Development)
