Tinynlunchbvictory: olive oil, lemon juice, nutritional yeast and the odd caper and oregano
Tiny victory… I was going to make a tiny complaint about whiny non compliant* patients, and then one of our patients had a GIANT leap in open mindedness towards compliance
I don’t actually care when adults dont comply with healthcare advice. That’s their right. BUT when you are non compliant including with every possible alternative, I am not paid well enough to listen to you whine. That’s probably a multi million a year job.
I’m reclassifying - mostly in my own mind, because changing it in YNAB is too much work - money I spend supporting Kid-4 in the “charity/giving” category. It’s really been weighing on me that I barely get into the black most months, and that because of that, the amount I end up giving to charity is laughably small. Really, really small, like sometimes under $5. Recently it occurred to me that it’s not because I’m not working hard enough or making good decisions or doing things right; it’s because I’m a low-income person supporting a WHOLE OTHER ADULT in a bit of a failure-to-launch situation right now. I don’t have to feel so guilty. It won’t be like this forever.
It is now mid-December and I still haven’t turned on my heat. I’ve been solely using my gas fireplace to heat my 1 bedroom apartment. (It’s super cheap to run my fireplace.) This is my first winter without having pets to worry about, so this is one giant experiment. It was about 55 degrees in my house when I got home from work last night.
I’m unclear if I am doing this to save money or if I’m just playing the masochist Midwestern game of “Look how long I can go without turning on the heat!!”
I am pretty impressed with your fortitude! I am a total princess snowflake so my heat was on as soon as my house got down to 67. Also my air is turned on at 75. LOL
I only planned to cook one meal using fresh ingredients this week because there was a lot going on. I cooked that meal while all the veggies were still fresh! This week’s menu has been questionable nutritionally but at least we ate all our meals at home.
