I volunteered at my kid’s class on Friday. I told him in the morning I was going to come in to be Mrs. Teacher’s helper for the day. As we were getting in the car at the end of the day he spontaneously said “Thank you mama for being Mrs. Teacher’s helper.”
I’m off prednisone this Friday, after FIVE MONTHS. It has messed a lot with my body. I even got behind-the-eyeball steroid shots to avoid more pred but turns out there was another issue that prednisone is more effective to treat. Finally everything seems to be stable.
A cat comes to cuddle with me every night (it’s cold)
The basement renovation is coming along and might be done by February.
We’re taking this week off from work! All weekend I said “we’re on vacation!” and now it’s Monday and we’re still on vacation
Those of you who seem to know about the Switch, @Oro and @bucketsofrain, please tell me if the Switch Lite is a good alternative. This mama does not want to spend $300 on her son’s Christmas gift but the son keeps asking for a Switch. The Switch Lite is $200 instead of 3, which better… Most importantly, can one play the new Pokemon games (sword and… something?) on the Lite? Because he wants those games. Or, those games are the main reason he wants a Switch. I did ask The Google but results were confusing.
ThredUP bag is mailed. This seriously could have sat in the house a week (or a month, or a year…). I finished packing it up over the weekend and now it is gone. YAY!
My gas fireplace insert is only rated to exhaust up a chimney flue. During the renovation, we removed the chimney. My contractor said he can’t install my fireplace if the manufacturer doesn’t approve it as a direct vented fireplace. I was upset and stressed because we only got this fireplace around 4 years ago, and it’s incredibly gorgeous and has a natural-looking flame. In addition to having to find a new fireplace insert, I’d have to do figure out what to do with this one, which would probably be “sell if on Craigslist at a huge loss”.
I followed up with the fireplace shop today since I didn’t hear from them for a week, and the guy talked to the rep and said I can get a $300 adaptor kit as long as I have a 3’ vertical run. I peeked behind all the plastic covering the fireplace and it looks like there’s enough space. So just waiting to get a confirmation from my contractor!
Kid had a friend and friend’s toddler over. Toddler was using her mama’s cell phone to play nursery rhymes for the cat, and it was the cutest thing ever. She even held up the screen for him to look at.
My understanding is that the difference is functionality. The Switch’s main “feature” that stands it apart from other gaming consoles is that it is BOTH a console (hooks up to a TV and games with multiplayer like Mario Cart can be played by a pack of people on a sofa so long as there are enough hand held parts purchased) and a hand held gaming device.
The Switch Light is ONLY a hand held gaming device. It does not “switch” in fact.
I believe it will play the same games, though. It simply becomes a Gameboy with a massive screen.
He already has a Nintendo 3DS but apparently the new Pokemon games he wants are only available on the Switch. Which is so annoying. He also has a PS4. So he has a console and he has a handheld and I just don’t think we need another handheld? Does that make me the Grinch?
