Tiny Complaints

I went to make a purchase with my debit card and forgot the pin. I still can’t remember it 4 hours later. Now I need to figure out how to reset it. My purchase is higher than the tap limit. I feel stupid and my brain hurts.

On my road trip today, I stopped at a gas station and was delighted to find an arroz con leche ice cream bar which I’ve never had before. I perched it on my dashboard while I pulled out of the parking lot, andddd it slid off onto the floor immediately. But I had pulled out purposely before a really slow car pulling a large trailer, so I didn’t want to stop and then be stuck behind them on a single lane road for 2 hrs. Soooo I drove with melting ice cream under my feet and now my car is gross. Thank god it’s all vinyl! But I’m most sad about only getting two bites of ice cream :sob:

Had a normal number of drinks last night and felt drunker than I have in a decade out of nowhere?? Had an unpleasant night and feeling it today.

In hindsight, perhaps ordering something that contained both red wine and tequila was a mistake.

Oooo, yeah. Anything that combines wine and liquor has really unpleasant consequences for me.

Mixing alcohols doesn’t usually bother me! I’ve even had this same drink (half frozen margarita half frozen sangria) at other places before without issue. So I don’t know if it really was the combo or if they just made it nuclear strength lol

In related news, I cannot drink hurricanes any more. NO. BAD. OMG. That goes on the list with champagne and sangria.

Didn’t get sick, just, I do not enjoy the full day hangover.

My red glitter Doc Marten boots are, in fact, NOT made for walking. Ouch.

In wiping down the light fixture in our bathroom I noticed that rust is already starting to form. It’s maybe been a year since being installed. We replaced the previous one due to rust. Apparently leaving the door open when we shower and running the fan is no match for a humid climate with very very tiny bathroom. Boo.

My Citi credit card is connecting on the back end when I’m making purchases, so for example when I got gas earlier I had to go through one additional screen in the transaction asking if I wanted to use my points to pay for this instead. No, I do not, I never want to use points. I want to hoard them like a dragon until December and apply them all to my balance then, like I do every year. Even if I got the equivalent value it wouldn’t be as satisfying to fritter them away during the year instead of seeing one big final total.

TV: I accidentally found a gas station that didn’t play ads at me when I started filling my take! It’s probably been years since that happened.

Past Me was too tired to do the dishes last night and now there is a huge pile.

Omg. I haven’t gotten gas at anywhere but Costco in years and I’m suddenly very, very grateful.

Teams has decided that “your” is not a real word and keeps underlining it like it’s misspelled.

I was filling out a form online at work requesting info from a company. I had to fill out a title and the only options were Mr. and Mrs.

WTF!

(Well, it’s a German company and I get that the translation to English is not perfect, but still, do better!)

Also, my title is Dr. Beddingfeld, thank you very much.

Sibling visit involved covid for all involved (sibling, sibling’s spouse, nephling, myself)…fortunately all seemed to be mild cases and I’m back home after a couple days of negative tests, but it meant quarantining for the whole visit which wasn’t exactly the plan given the number of other relatives in that area that I’m lucky to see every couple years, some of whom are getting on in years (which was why we definitely weren’t risking seeing them even with mild cases, but still). But at least the four of us could hang out, and there was at least one buddy who didn’t mind that we were all at the house for many days straight:

I got Asimov’s Foundation’s Edge off hold and it downloaded to my e-reader in Ukrainian! I talked to the Overdrive customer support and they said the books are fulfilled by Kobo. So now I’m on phone hold with them.
