Coworker gets the “I’m the worst” hat for the remainder of Friday.
One of my brothers fucked up, and as a result fucked up the wedding of other brother- which has already been fucked up twice before because of Covid. We’re hosting, whenever it does eventually happen. Just got off a call with tearful SIL to be. I’m really angry at the fuck-up brother right now. And I want SIL and other brother to be able to be excited about their wedding, and I’m not sure how.
Oh no, that’s awful.
I tried to donate blood today (made an appointment and everything), and my flow went from slow to stopped at 100 ml (too small to do anything with). I guess I’m bad at blood sharing.
One of my co-workers put on this informal coffee hour so all of us could meet in an friendly “informal” way. This was suggested by co-worker A. Co-worker B. decided to put it together. I objected to Coworker B in private because usually what these turn into is one or two of my co workers just taking up all the air in the room and talking about themselves and agendas.
I felt bad for voicing my concerns about the get together, but went anyways–I’ve since found out co-worker A was retiring and thought, “Hey, she probably wants to know since she’s leaving soon, etc.”
Well, Co-worker A didn’t even show up to the coffee meeting! Bleah. Co-worker C, one of the ones that loves to talk about himself came. I remember saying I had an accomplishment and then he went right into saying what he’s done right afterwards. Like wtf.
Anyways, I’m going to be the bigger person and send a compliment to Co-worker B and laud their accomplishments. Oh yeah and not going to any more optional coffee hours since they are a waste of my time. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
I read a book and now I am tired.
My kid made a pulled pork and jam sandwich*
*this isn’t really a complaint. Or a victory. It’s a thing that happened and is funny and I wanted to share. He says it wasn’t nearly as bad as he expected. if he expected it to be bad why did he make it?
Science?
My mouse died. The one I use for work and for gaming. I don’t have a backup.
We have many backup mice (wired, USB). You need?
I appreciate the offer but I’ll be alright.
Same guild friend who sent me a headset (last month?) informed me that there is now a mouse on the way and would not take no for an answer. I made them promise to send me screenshots of their favorite outfit/armor on their game character, so I can send back an ink portrait.
I’ll let my supervisor know on Monday that the mouse is no longer working and get a replacement from work, and then I’ll look around for a more robust, long-term solution.
I think the biggest problem out of all of this is that the mouse I was using was a vertical, ergonomic design, and they’re a little on the spendier side.
I’ve been looking at these. Do you have a recommendation? Ergonomic sounds great but I have no idea how these things work in practice.
This is the one I had that decided to die. I’d been using it since last October I think. I’ll likely invest in a more expensive one.
It only took me a day or two to get used to, and I experienced significantly less wrist and hand pain than with a traditional mouse!
I have one like that. I like it a lot.
I find it weird to use at first but I’m getting better with it. SO bought one for the home computer.
New fire with evacuations started today one county over from where I am:
2020 we’re done with fires, plz stahp
ETA and this is what it looked like at sunset, oh good
I dyed my hair and I don’t like how it came out. I miss my fucking hairstylist. I wish she would stop partying maskless so I’d feel safer going to her.
Oh that’s terrible.
I’m so sorry, this is terrible! How are there still more fires? Why isn’t it snowing?? Come’on Winter, you can do it!
It is MAYBE going to snow a tiny bit in a week. Maybe. Weather underground is at 24% chance of precipitation for next Sunday/Monday.
There are like three new fires that have started in the mountains in the last week.
Not sure why I keep getting Medicare notices from my own insurance company. I am still in my 20s, thanks.
