Tiny Complaints

You don’t have to KILL It. just… let it fade. Let it be the Giving Tree.

I might.

Honestly, it’s like – what even of value comes through my email anymore? It’s not my work email, it’s just… commercial faff and functional spam.

Man I hate the modern world a little bit.

Gmail has a fairly new ‘unsubscribe’ option, where you can mass unsubscribe with just a few clicks. This may be a good start point?

(If you hover over an email, to the far right there will be an ‘unsubscribe’ button)

(or, on the left bar, there is a ‘manage subscriptions’ button, which will show you at a glance everything you are subscribed to and the approximate frequency in which they email you. Most you can unsubscribe from right there)

I do use this! The problem is that I keep getting new spam subscriptions popping into my email endlessly. That I never signed up for. UGH.

Kiddo had gotten through his homework for the week already so he was supposed to have a free afternoon which meant I was going to have a free afternoon. Then he got some extra math work sent home and had issues settling down to work on it despite saying that he wanted to get it done first so there goes any down time I was going to get this afternoon. Sigh.

Well, bugetober budget for home improvement may be out the window day 1 since I went down to clean out the cat litter boxes this morning and found the carpet in the basement bedroom soaked. Source of leak still undetermined, but the window wells look dry which doesn’t bode well for some pipe somewhere.

And after tearing up some flooring and opening up some drywall, confirmed nothing around the window is wet. But the plumbing looks fine, too, or at least while it could still use some updates, it doesn’t seem to be leaking anywhere, which leaves foundation fun. Either a crack or some sort of weird drainage issue where it backed up enough of a well against the foundation to leak between the slab and walls (for the first time in almost 20 years, although they were working on the neighborhood sprinkler system the other day, so it’s a possibility). Getting names for people actually qualified to investigate that sort of thing now.

Anyway, the drywall and the flooring is annoying but fixable, and it looks like all the furniture is salvageable, but I am mad that my very nice, fluffy area rug was soaked through to the point that we couldn’t even get it out in one piece because of the weight so it’s now been sliced into ribbons and moved to the garage trash where it’s continuing to ooze water out under the door.

I lately feel that it’s always Amazon Prime Day which means it is never Amazon Prime Day and everything is meaningless

I seem to have culled the fabric layout board I had… and of course now I need it!

Super tiny and also probably super redneck: all (both) the handicap spot at the Dollar General were full so I had to climb the curb.

Over the past year or so the shelf-stable juice has all transitioned to being juice blends. Today I couldn’t find any 100% orange juice. I just wanted 1L for a recipe. They had the jugs of fresh juice in the cooler for much more money.
What if I don’t want a juice blend? Do all juices need to be mostly apple with a little of something else for flavour?

Yes, and they are getting rid of the frozen oj concentrate. Bah, humbug.

They are bringing back the concentrate! And I have one left in my freezer. Have you checked the juice boxes? I think those still have one or two brands of orange juice instead of blends.

But also blame war

I checked two stores, the cartons and juice boxes were all blends.
Probably a big suburban store has it. I’m annoyed that getting such a simple thing takes additional effort.

Gas went below $4 a gallon for the first time in a long time yesterday. It went up .80 today.

Camping in the new to me little trailer. Good news is my bed is dry, which is more than most people at this event can say. Bad news is my socks are wet and it’s still raining, so little chance of them drying. I don’t have a hair dryer in the camper, apparently.
