Tiny Complaints

Maybe 4 years ago I planted a red maple tree close to another large tree that I thought was dying. Turns out the arborist told us last year the large tree isn’t dying. So I just had him give me a quote to move it about 40 ft. A couple of years ago he moved 2 birch trees for $125 each. His quote to move this tree is $450 and it’s no bigger. I’m also finding out that maple tree roots are sensitive. So I don’t think I’m having it moved. I figure trees grow close together in the forest, so why not in my back yard, too. Right??

How TF do I have this much random crap between my front door and bedroom? Getting a new mattress delivered today/old mattress hauled away (finally. that part’s a victory), and they very reasonably ask for an access path clear of trip hazards and things that could accidentally be knocked off the walls/shelves. I was thinking it’d be a quick pick-up, it’s not like I’ve got much in the way of furniture on the way, but half an hour later I still haven’t actually gotten to my bedroom.

My fridge is making a noise. It’s gotten louder since I first heard it last night. It sounds as if the motor is having some trouble? I don’t want this problem. :frowning:

Start by cleaning the back of it and the kick plate on the bottom front. If they get clogged it can make problems.

Also defrost it. You’re supposed to do that as routine maintenance every year, and often that’s all it takes to get it working fine again.

Thanks. I recently defrosted the freezer, two weekends? ago. But I’ve never once thought of cleaning the back of it.

Apparently they’re way more efficient if you vaccum the coils once a year.

I learned this two years ago :grimacing:

And if you have cats, the back of the refrigerator is pretty gross with cat fur…

no photos of the trio of deer who crossed the road 10 feet behind us while the lens was in the shadowy one’s backpack because we were on bikes heading to the next pond (we had stopped to look at a bird)

I sincerely hope the author of the book I’m reading didn’t realize when they wrote book one that they would be able to write more in the series because now in book two they’re all being dumb and Surprised Pikachu at something I noticed immediately in book one (power struggle/politics in romantacy) which of course is now the big plot problem in book two.

I keep getting email from organizations whose email I did not sign up for. It’s not spam mail in the classic sense. It’s like… a perfume house who I never gave my email to but visited their website, or the fucking American Diabetes Association, whose website I’ve viewed for nutrition stuff.

I am really, really done with it. Like I’m thisclose to treating my current email as junk email and moving to a different email. Maybe I’ll protonmail myself to make my life better…

I managed to get an LL Bean x Dunkin collab sweater at 10:01 and they just canceled it (along with many others, according to social media) for being out of stock.

I wanted the bright fun pink and orange sweater :frowning:

Honestly I kinda did this. I just now use my dead name email for everything unimportant.
It’s not a bad choice.

I have had this gmail for nearly 20 years (it’s my actual name). Part of me would be so sad for it to go, but also, fucking gmail man. And the spam.
