Tiny Complaints

It’s a “two brain cells fighting for third place” kind of day, I have way too many things to do, and the caffeine is doing nothing.

:melting_face::fist: ik ook.

Still not tiny - especially since it seems you have had doctors flirting with malpractice.

Not even giving the brain cells energy to fight?

I absolutely understand this… but…

Reality from a former used bookstore owner? If you let people sit all day, they often will, without buying anything more than the minimum. And at least for me, it was totally not what I wanted to do. I couldn’t afford that, especially after Borders opened in town… So my chairs were not UNcomfortable, but not cozy/comfy.

I still lost money. But not because I had the homeless and others living in my store.

That makes sense (as one who used to hang at Powells while waiting for their partner to get off shift, I’ve been that person… but also knew most of the baristas and am a mocha fiend so maybe it evened out?)

I feel like when it’s rural there can be more of a community gathering space than city laptop warriors staking out seats all day, but I’m probably cherry picking my examples.

This is my fav coffee shop in the world but it’s also my hometown so I’m biased: https://bookloft.org/

I have a friend who’s looking to open a coffee shop in a few years, perhaps I’ll gift them a comfy chair and visit as often as I can before they take it away :joy_cat:

This is a double stuf Oreo now. I wonder if the regular ones even have any frosting? Also they are in a much smaller package and twice the cost. (There’s the “double” part!) My niece likes an Oreo ice cream cake that I make, good thing she doesn’t ask for it very often.

This is a regular Oreo. Now I’m wondering about the thin ones.

On the cookie theme, I want home made cookies but I do not want to make cookies.

Me too! I have been dreaming about really good choc chip cookies or breakfast cookies (oatmeal, raisin, some peanuts). But because I have a large container of peaches in the fridge, I’ve been making peach stuff instead. Yesterday it was muffins, this morning it was cobbler.

The double ones do still look thicker. I personally eat Oreos for the frosting so have never purchased the thin ones.

It all evens out - I dislike the frosting so prefer the thinner ones.

My coworker scrapes the frosting off things. Monster.

I am almost at the point of not buying commercial baked goods, it is fairly rare these days. Nothing tastes as good as it used to, and it is just so expensive for what you get. I make sure to bake when I am going to see my mom so I can share with her. Homemade is probably not less expensive, but it tastes better.

Most frosting on store bought (not bakery) cakes is disgusting (shortening and sugar) and way too thick. People were always delighted that I did NOT want a corner piece or a piece with a very large rose - so they could get their frosting fix. It works great for me.

Now real buttercream is a different story.

I am with you, center pieces are far superior to corner pieces. Kiddo recently requested the birthday cake flavored ice cream and it just tastes like frosting so it has zero appeal for me.

On home made versus store bought, I regret doing the can type rolls every time because of the flavor but I still can’t be arsed to actually make them from scratch 95% of the time.

Call me crazy, but I don’t think we need this book!

Didn’t you know that accommodations/being understanding of differences is prejudice?!

(Ugh this world)
