Tiny Complaints

An Airbnb I stayed at in London had a coffee shop across the street called fuckoffee.

I wrote the kids chore lists for today last night, with all outside jobs.

It’s pouring (i’ve already pivoted and adjusted, I’m just annoyed)

I found the correct file, with more paperwork in it. But not all of it that we needed. Still it isn’t as bad as I thought…

The sun came out, and I re-pivoted. Then as I was explaining what weeds needed to be pulled, what rocks needed to be moved, and where the mulch needed to go - the heavens opened.

Rename it “Lake Epstein”. I have seen several suggestions , including this

I hate this timeline. Is it worth looking up?

It’s “Gulf of America” but angry because Canada, surprising no one with even a single brain cell, placed retaliatory tariffs on the US.

Beyond the fact that he doesn’t have that power, Ontario is an indigenous word (fuck him) and is also used independently as a place name in the US (I grew up in Ontario Country). It means either “great lake” in Wendat or “beautiful water” in some of the other Iroquoian languages.

Of all the terrible things that that man has done, this relatively minor one is just filling me with rage. I grew up around the Great Lakes, so it hits close to home.

It’s HOMES, you asshole. (Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie, Superior)

I did see someone say it could be SHAME now. Fitting.

Only your fucking half and even that is an insult to the people who actually named it.

The Americans have less than half.
Pretty sure no american gets to rename non-american territory, like the gulf of Mexico. It’s weird to pretend they can.

At my thyroid surgery follow up today there was a twist. Surgery was because I had a new active nodule on top of the inactive large nodule I’ve had for at least 12 years and which has been needle biopsied twice. New nodule biopsy pre surgery came back as non zero chance of cancer but probably benign. After surgery pathology came back… The damn inactive nodule that didn’t light up in the pet scan had cancer, which is luckily now not iny body.

The tiny(?) complaint I have is that I have tried to demand scans to eliminate secondary cancer ever since my breast cancer surgery 10 years ago. It wasn’t considered necessary, but my PA at MD Anderson did the scan to shut me up after ten years. The scan did not pick up the actual cancer!

It’s sad that I’m only really surprised that he didn’t try to rename Lake Superior because its name hurt his feelings or some bullshit like that.

I consider this to be a major complaint and am sorry you’re going through this.

I do wish I could go back to the original PCP from 12 years ago who wouldn’t do a pap exam on me because that blood test showed him everything he needed to know about any cancers. At the time I definitely had breast cancer and probably the thyroid cancer.

This is tiny complaint because all of this is catching the cancers at stage 1 so it is annoying, not life threatening.
