Oh yeah, Oliver was in full guard dog mode. At one point I was kneeling on the ground in the doorway, trying to keep him inside, and he stood on my shoulders to be even bigger 
and the guy with the lady was like “omg that is a HUGE dog, we’ll leave you alone now!”

Temperature at -13 and still dropping, and also I forgot to go out and pull in the trashcan and recycling bin after pick up this morning (and also it’s midnight and I just woke up from a nap so I’m not getting actual sleep anytime soon, but at least on a weekend that’s less of an issue).

We got about 8” of snow yesterday on top of the 8” we got on Tuesday. Oof. Prior to that we hadn’t gotten any this winter.

I bought Mardi Gras lights at a literal Mardi Gras store, the one everyone goes to for their gear. And the lights are PINK, green, and gold. Should be purple. What the fuck. They look stupid but I am leaving them up on my porch anyway because I do not want to spend more money.
The store does not accept returns.

Despite having an obscene number of television and television-adjacent remote controls (seriously, I’ve dug up eleven of them so far, and I can’t come up with eleven devices that need remote controls), the only one that seems detectable by the sound system parent sent is the one with a bad circuit board whose only capability seems to be lowering the volume. Why do I have a remote with a bad circuit board and exceedingly limited functionality? No idea, it’s one of the ones I’m not even sure where it came from, but apparently if I want this thing to work I’m going to need to repair or replace.
(Background, parent decided to upgrade their surround sound system over the holidays, and since the old one was/is perfectly functional and they don’t need two, they sent the old one to me. I wouldn’t have bought it for myself but as long as it’s here I’d like to be able to use it given my primary use for television is playing music)

I think I’m sick.
I went to get a rapid covid pcr and it’s negative but it’s been a year since I researched this and I’m not sure if that’s conclusive or not.

The PCR tests are more sensitive than the antigen tests, so if you’ve been sick at least a day or two and you’re negative on a PCR, it probably isn’t covid (though a negative is never 100%). But there’s a ton of flu, RSV, and regular colds going around too.

Thin coat of blue paint over the currently pink lights? You could mix some blue into Elmer’s type glue and it will dry translucent but tinted. I used to do this for fake stained glass.

I have fleece lined tights with skulls on them that were a planned part of my costume already. So that will help. And we will be allowed gloves. No hats though and I don’t have a wig for this one.
