I don’t remember a ton of religion although there’s vague stuff about blessing renewing your spirit but definitely sexism, martyrdom and heteronormativity.
I don’t do the house blessing hour, for instance, because vacuuming and dusting are the jobs of my boychildren and I don’t follow her practices for grocery shopping and laundry because my husband prefers to do those on the weekend and he is in charge of them. But I love the 15 minute cleaning because most cleaning of the house is my job.

It involves 100% less screaming than our previous “dear god make it to bedtime” attempts at entertainment, so I will take it and gladly haha.
The real question is if I bother refolding, or just kinda shove it all in and figure it’ll get ripped out another day

I folded and put away the drying rack laundry

I am usually very good about keeping up with laundry but apparently I’m almost out of underwear and the wiggler is out of pajamas. It used to be easier to keep up but he’s getting so big that a week of my clothes + his clothes is twice as many loads as it used to be.

Somehow was able to make dinner, feed and bathr child, and still had energy to fix this shit. There are a few more dishes for me to wash but I emptied the sink before I went upstairs. The rest is someone elses problem.

I have decided that on Friday in lieu of a normal date night (sitting on the couch watching YouTube), D and I are going to get the living room into a semblance of order. At least I want to ensure there is a clear path from the front door to the kitchen and make it possible for me to step close to the piece of furniture I put my purse on.
(We may also sit on the couch and watch YouTube but I want to get some cleaning done first.)

I realised the house decor magazines I’ve been saving for browsing through again and helping me with decorate my home are just taking up space.
If I want them to actually be useful, I need to go through them now right as we plan our renovation. So I now have a big stack to rip pages from and recycle the rest of the magazine. I will have cleared a whole shelf from one of the study bookcases after this.

I am too sick to mop this week, but fortunately? my older son did something problematic the other day and has to “put my energy back” by… mopping.

I rearranged some stuff in our wardrobe so that we can put our extra pantry goods on there. Then I covered our study in green sticky notes to indicate what boxes and paper piles and such we need to review and (hopefully) dispose of.

Reporting on this: sooooo much better! Mostly we threw out ripped paper and rearranged the books, but because the books were arranged so poorly to begin with (haphazardly in bins), it’s a great improvement now that many of them are on a shelf. D also broke down the giant box that the wiggler doesn’t play with anymore, freeing up floor space and making the closet accessible again, so my coat is hung up instead of flung over the back of the chair. Oh, and we’ve designated a box for the crayons—one that I don’t think the wiggler can open by himself. All in all, quite a success!

My house actually looks worse because we’re cleaning so much stuff out. Dh took a load to Goodwill yesterday, and now there’s another giant pile because he has started going through stuff. I almost fell over on that one.
Piano movers took the piano yesterday.
Oh, and dh has found someone to take all the winemaking stuff so he’s hauling piles of that upstairs.

The bathtub has been draining super slowly and it actually got worse after I used drain cleaner, so my superstar husband unscrewed the grate and cleaned it out. Sounds like it was super super gross We need to try to find a drain cover that will fit the drain. I thought the grate that’s in place had been catching pretty much all the hair, but it seems that is not the case.
