I parked farther from the hospital to save on $$$ hospital parking

Yesterday, I packed lunch and declined a dinner invitation (Iā€™ll see one friend tonight, and Iā€™ll Facetime the other to catch up in the next few days).
Today, I declined another dinner invitation and will be meeting them after for drinks. Iā€™m thinking of just having water or soda to save more money.

I finally made the hard-boiled eggs I wanted for snacks instead of buying snacks at the grocery store.

Made vege pasta and froze it in meal portions, to avoid buying non-fun work lunches (fun ones with work friends are okay!).

I used the hair buzzer I have to give myself a trim. I have an undercut so I can prolong the duration between professional haircuts this way. :+1::+1:

Picked up a new vaporiser (humidifier) via Buy Nothing.

I did not buy any of the four things I saw at my officeā€™s craft/vendor fair today that I really wanted. Even though one of them was a Hufflepuff blanket.

I walked 4 miles roundtrip instead of ubering. In the snow. Uphill both ways! (Just kidding about that last part).

Can I claim Mr Hā€™s victory? He went through our hardware odds and ends to find a screw that fits the arch I was assembling, so we didnā€™t have to buy a new one to replace the one Ewok lost. The petrol weā€™d have used driving to the shops is probably a bigger saving than the cost of the screw itself, but Iā€™m counting it!

Cut Ewokā€™s hair myself. Itā€™s not perfect because he ran out of patience 90% of the way through, but itā€™s better than it was and it didnā€™t cost me $30.

Put together a very lackluster lunch from home, instead of buying a lackluster lunch from the only cafe open near work at this time of the year. I did not want to spend five minutes making lunch, but Iā€™m glad I did.

I mended some undershirts for my husband so he can avoid buying new ones.

Bought 6 cans of beans on sale for 2/99cents instead of 6 $3.99 frozen burritos

I put my cell phone plan on hold. My phone broke, and Iā€™m relying on wifi with a loaner phone. Itā€™s actually been kind of freeing to go without internet for big chunks of time, so Iā€™m sticking with it. I can delay buying a new phone, and it saves me $30/mo for as long as I can hold off.

I really like having a text and phone calls only plan (for if/when you get a new plan). Because I get the huge benefit of time away from internet and engaging with the world when Iā€™m out. Plus itā€™s cheaper

Ooh I honestly forgot that was an option. Iā€™ll look into it!

I walked straight home despite wanting to stop into cute shops and get croissants and milk tea.
