Oh boy. I’m still on the last repeat of the cowl, and I think I might pull it all out and start over. It was a great learning project for me (learning to read charts and incorporating cables), but maybe too much learning was had? I’ve even switched the way I knit since I last picked it up!
Oooh such a pretty pattern!
I’m so happy she is designing. I have come out of NZ Maori spaces and museums so many times being inspired by the patterns and carving and artwork and tattoos, but knowing of the difficult waters around appropriation I’d be navigating. I am glad to support her journey of finding a respectful and celebratory path.
I’m using really nice yarn (Malabrigo Mechita) for this sweater and it’s just like – can I just knit forever and not do anything else???
mmmm Malabrigo
I am living in the lap of luxury.
Confusing. The name literally means bad coat. I guess it’s good for a sweater but not a coat? Still seems weird when it elicits such a positive reaction.
I believe it was actually purposefully satirical (at least according to this link it is!).
I finally finished Jessie Mae’s Ripple Bralette and…I hate it. Not for the pattern or yarn, but because ‘for a fitted bralette choose a size with 9-11" of negative ease’. Guess who didn’t size down?
Anyway, the finished garment is frumpy AF. I’ll be slowly deconstructing it over the next however long and starting over.
I really like that!
And that pattern is gorgeous
I want to propose that we do an initial OMD Craft Session™ this week, Thursday 5pm PDT/Friday 8am AWST. The session will be held on the OMD Discord artsncrafts_voice channel, where we can do both video and audio!
I’m sorry I’ll miss this one! (That time normally works for me, just not the next 2 weeks.) I hope there will be another one.
That works for me!
I’ll be there.
I’m definitely intending that we should have another one! Maybe we can eventually find a weekly time that we can all pop in for?
This works for me! woot woot
I’m triple booked, but we’ll see
Too fancy and popular!
In general, does that time work for people (say on future weeks), or is it a frequently-busy time?
