In general it’s a good time, but I just rebooked one of my other things to next week

I will try to make it. It depends on whether I can get my writing done earlier in the evening. (There are no good days for me.)

All my knitting is packed but I’m in for future sessions!

And I lie - because I totally had in my brain it was Wednesday…

ok, I’m living dangerously and splitting for the arms. The problem is that the front is almost 2 inches longer than the back, because the front is lace twisted stitches, and the back is 2 rows stockinette and 1 row garter. However, on ravelry some people claimed that the disparity corrects itself with blocking.

The annoyance is that the pattern tells you to knit for a certain length, but doesn’t say if it is measured from the front or the back. I’ve decided to measure from the front, and if need be, I could make the arm holes longer to get the needed total length and not rip all the way back.

Maybe the designer doesn’t realize that some of us don’t have that much chest to need the extra fabric there?

right, and because I’m alternating skeins every row because the colours of each ball are so different, I’m going to need to do the twisted cable crosses from the wrong side. This will be fun. But better than having two row stripes, or a big colour shift at this point by just going to a single skein.

Good luck, plainjane!!

Tentative…normally this would be good, but we just found a mess at work and while typically escaping at 6 would be no problem, that may not be the case tonight… It’s also possible that I’ll escape but be unfit for human company at that point.

Good luck

Last minute check here: If you don’t have the link for the Discord server, please message me and I’ll make sure you have it. Looking forward to our inaugural chattin’ time!

Turns out, twisted cable crosses are easy. The real problem is the twisted directional decreases. I think this is

RS / - twisted k2tog (slip pwise, slip from back to front, k2tog)
WS / - twisted ssp (slip kwise, slip kwise, p2tog)

RS \ - twisted ssk (slip pwise, slip kwise, k2tog tbl)
WS \ - twisted p2tog (p2tog tbl)

These are best guess because I haven’t fully swatched, and I’m not going to tink or drop down to fix the rows I did while trying to figure out the appropriate decrease. It seems for some reason that nobody really has written much on this topic in a way my googling could find it.

And I have mis crossed all the cables on one row but I am not dropping down to fix it.

For size, it is on a standard pillow form.

Three needle bind off on the two shoulder seams, and sprong! it looks like a crop top that will barely cover a bra. But I soaked it this morning, and blocked it out to the standard top size (I have a tank top with minimal stretch that is my target block) and now it is drying on a towel in the kitchen.

Once I know for sure it is the right length I’ll do the finishing trim on the neck and shoulder.

I’ve gotten into the weird part of this hoodie where you do the back and two front pieces separately and then set the arms in. Do I know what I’m doing? Hell no. Am I doing it anyways? Yep, yep I am.

This yarn remains utterly gorgeous, but it’s dark enough that the textures that the top of the hoodie plays with aren’t popping as much as I would like. Alas.

Are we doing a video get together again?

This is how I knit. (Also applies to much of my life tbh.)
