First sock done. Some irritating pooling, but the foot ended up looking quite good. Which will be impossible to match for sock 2.

I’m ALMOST finished with my lace scarf and my plan for what to knit next is a cardigan, so as long as that would qualify, I’m up for a knit along.

For a knit along, would people prefer to

  • all work on a similar type of project (e.g. cowl, scarf, shawl)
  • work on a ‘new to me’ technique where active support of other knitters would help you be more ambitious than you might be otherwise
  • be sensible and make something you’ll use
  • be fun and make something for the joy of making
  • something else I’ll suggest below
  • a similar motif like lace or cable

Had to put my design swatch on hold for the moment, the small needles were causing quite a bit of wrist pain and the knitting was slow going. I’ll probably pick it back up this weekend.

In the meantime, working on a 1x1 rib beanie in worsted weight wool.

This is…less than correct. Need to frog and figure it out. I can’t figure out why the pattern has you K38 but then wants you to keep going in the pattern. Once you’ve K all the sts you’re missing the yf you need to keep the pattern going

Playing yarn chicken with the bulky yarn I was given as a going away present from my last job. They selected a pretty colourway, but perhaps not the easiest yarn to find a good pattern for. If this doesn’t work, I might try just making it a cowl.

lost yarn chicken 5 rows from the end. Ripping back 8 rows, and will start the decreases 3 rows earlier.

Finished Baby Sack:

It’s acrylic, so not really worth blocking. I was also going to double knit baby’s name on, but don’t have the same type of yarn in a different color…forever a WIP.

Sorry for all the edits, attempting to upload images crashes my internet :c

A much better shot of the final product (unblocked)

I’m making a Baby Yoda for my dad (his birthday is coming up). I made one earlier for a friend but I think I forgot to share it in this thread. Maybe someday I’ll make one for myself.

I forgot to ask you: Do you pick or throw your yarn?

I’m a thrower, and I’m wondering if this method is making it harder for me to knit with smaller yarn and needles.

I throw except for colourwork. I have heard anecdotally that picking is easier on wrists.

I think that anecdotally may be worth giving it a try!

I do combined continental (a variant of picking) and I find it exceptionally easy on wrists. I do sometimes get finger cramping/soreness in my pinky/ring fingers, but that’s usually after heavy heavy knitting sessions (like I’m knitting an hour a day or more every day) while holding onto the knitting too tightly.

finished my socks and cast on my Lariat top without doing a gauge swatch. I will probably regret, but in the meantime I’m doing several cm of twisted rib in flat, which means purling through the back loop. Not as bad as I was led to believe to be honest.

I love how you live so dangerously.

I’ve started teaching myself how to knit continental and to Norwegian purl. It’s slow going, of course, but I’m at row 13 or so of the Susitna Hat, which is a gift/art trade with a lovely comic artist I met through Instagram.

Honestly, the way this pattern is written is atrocious, I’ve had to tink back at least five different rows. That being said, I really like the finished product, and I can’t wait to make one for myself as well! This one is gray (Color A) and mustard yellow (Color B).

It’s just 160 stitches of twisted rib in light fingering with 2.75mm needles. What could possibly go wrong?

I just love how the colors go together:

Also learning how to do German Short Rows for this one.
