Oh! Forgot this extremely important part of my update: I knit for over two hours last night without any wrist pain.
Thanks for encouraging me to switch up my methods!

This is just a very large and reliable swatch.
Which is probably 2 inches smaller than ideal.
and in fact, the designer didn’t think it was important to know the gauge for the twisted rib, she’s only provided the number for the stockinette.
My weekend plans of unexcitement - laundry, go for walk or 2 on the treadmill (still a bit too cold for me outside), make lists of things to do while I’m home for oh, let’s say a month. I feel with the isolating everyone will have fully scrubbed homes lol
But yes it’s all about creating projects to keep busy.
Finally finished this baby blanket for a friend due next month.
I am thinking about doing a corner to corner pattern next for Puglet. I’ve never tried a C2C before. Anyone have any experience? Tips?
Now on to the body of this sweater, and I’m going to go for the M length, starting with the XL width and decreasing down to the M. Which given the pattern should be pretty easy.
A friend is in London right now and she’s planning to get to Loop, so I told her to look for a skein of La Bien Aimee x Mondim because I thought there were no Canadian stockists and that is the cool new yarn. However, I checked again, and Espace Tricot does have some, but at least I’m not paying for shipping?
I love corner to corner! One of the things I like about that stitch pattern is you work into spaces, not stitches, which I find to be much faster. The first few rows are fiddly, because they are so short, but once you get a few rows in it has a nice rhythm to it.
I’m here if you have questions as you go.
Since it’s a pandemic, I have so much more crafting time!
I have friends with a baby being born in July and a cousin just announced she’s having a baby in September. I have CRAFTING TO GET ON, omg.
So, a Make-A-Long? Something that is practical, that would be used, and ideally has lace or cables or both?
Do we want to have a target end date? (E.g. May 15?)
Do we want to do a draw for prizes? (e.g. something from people’s stash, or buying a pattern, or something made)
I say we keep it simple, no prizes just making to make something together. An end date would keep me motivated to make continuous progress.
I agree with keeping it simple. But maybe a gif/cute animal picture party for each finished project?
I have a couple UFOs I’d love to finish, and I’d love to do some stash busting too.
I don’t think I’ll be able to get to an LYS for doing the same thing all together.
That being said, I would LOVE to have some way of us all working on a project together. I do have a few baby blankets I want to work on, and an afghan I’ve already got going, so…
I did a shared knit of a baby blanket where each of us did one square and one person volunteered to do the piecing. Given our number, it might make more sense to do a full row or column of the blanket. And then we’d need to decide who the recipient is.
Thanks! I love all the patterns out there, you can do so much with design. I am going to try a bumble bee one for Puglet.
Would you mind linking to the pattern? I don’t think I’ve seen a bumble bee one.
That could be pretty cool. Sharing crochet squares is a time honored tradition for sure.
Maybe if anyone has a local home for the elderly that’s getting hit hard right now, that could be a good recipient for a lapghan or two? Something to make isolated people feel connected and loved and like they’re in a less medical atmosphere.
This is the one I’m thinking about;
