I love the rolling! Our Girl Dog was a roller (on carpet).
The dog of my childhood loved lace. She would try to steal the lace doilies from the backs of chairs, and would rub up against the lace cover at the foot of my parent’s bed until it turned a nice, dog oil shade of yellow. Mom was not pleased, but the dog looked so happy doing it that she eventually gave in.
Fun fact - those sofa doilies are called antimassacars, because in Victorian times men used massacar oil on their hair and it rubbed off on upholstery. So, ironically, dog oil catcher was sort of an old-school appropriate use.
I relate to the “giving in” part. Two of our dogs have liked rubbing their heads And shoulders by scooting along the perimeter of the couches.
Having pets I just assume the furniture is doomed. But actually friends have created more stains than pets (red wine, food).
Luigi has been standing like this for the past 5 minutes. Apparently the outside is wildly fascinating.
My babe is having a bad leg day. I mistakenly walked her too far this morning and can tell she’s in pain.
Gave her a touch of pain meds, blocked the high places she like to jump to, and of course – being the resilient amazing pup she is I find her in the second bedroom/office playing with some crumpled paper happily.
Her face is just so joyful at having found the paper!
Blue Heeler?
The shelter advertised him as a heeler/beagle mix. As someone who grew up with herding breeds including heelers, I can definitively say he is not one (quite poor endurance; smart in a very different way). DNA test said 1/4 beagle, 1/8 cocker spaniel, 1/8 golden retriever, 1/2
The lack of endurance may be a benefit when you’re attempting to tire him out.
I’m sure the shelter was going on appearance. He looks like a heeler.
He looks like an EXTREMELY GORGEOUS.
I never knew this – I knew the name but not the origin!
Haha, yeah, the thought was, great, heeler/beagle he’ll be an awesome running buddy who actually sleeps sometimes. He did run with me a little when younger, but always preferred 1-3 miles, slowly, or sprinting half a mile then walking. He probably had a partial CCL tear last year (diagnosed by feel, treated with a few hydrotherapy sessions) and I officially retired him from running.
Even the stuffed dog is exhausted ^^
Yeah, that’s his girlfriend
