I had another baby who loved food and spent a lot of time demonstrating it in front of pediatrician grandma, and she never found it worrying. He was combo fed by the time he was eating frequent solids so we knew how much he was getting, and all fine. Some kids just like food!
Ever since the cuckoo started preschool, she has been a bottom pit, give-her-an-inch-she’ll-take-a-mile kind of kid. Constantly, “Can you play with me?” Trouble separating at nap and bedtime. Have other people experienced this? Does it pass? Because right now preschool is almost a negative because she never wants to play independently anymore.
How long has she been in preschool at this point? Is it just clinginess at a much higher level than usual or other kinds of not listening?
Like 3 weeks, and mostly just clinginess.
Since the age of two, Larva’s willingness to sleep in her own bed is inversely proportional to daycare/school attendance. Daytime isn’t affected, but nighttime she wants to make up the closeness.
I would give it at least 6 weeks before drawing any conclusions- I think that’s a pretty common reaction.
Ditto what others are saying, it’s a phase and will eventually ease off. Make a note to yourself in your calendar for next year when it might happen again (but to a lesser degree).

It’s croup season and send seven puffers to your kids’ school season. Plug in the humidifier and find an aerochamber BEFORE turning off the lights.
Yes, do it now! Don’t be like me and have to turn on all the lights 40 minutes past bedtime to find all the humidifier stuff.
I hunted so hard for the aerochamber, and after that plus humidifier in the dark drama I tripped over last weekend’s camping bags (not unpacked) with a big ohhhhh right yes.
In an epic fit of parenting, I sanitized my humidifier!
Good job!!! I have one that can go through the dishwasher and I just change out the filters frequently because I know I would never clean it otherwise
Which one do you have lol this sounds like my speed
Oh that’s smart. For future ref, what kind is it?
It’s the prior version of this one! (Mine doesn’t have UV)

We have to do a bowel clean out for my 5 year old this weekend, upon advice from the pediatric gastroenterologist.
MiraLAX, low sugar soda and juices are ordered (not sure how to get him to drink 20 oz of liquid twice but we’ll go with bribery with sugar).
Got him some new legos to build. We’re planning to go to the local park in the morning to get some energy out before we’re stuck at home for the rest of the day.
Any other advice from people who have done this before?
No advice, just sending luck
I would be prepared for it to take longer. We were told to keep doing it until she hit the “tea colored water” stage. They said it would take 2-3 days but it took 5 ![]()
Watermelon is a fluid! And diaper cream is a must
Any out of the box ideas for calming down for bed time? My middle child(2 yr old) gets insanely restless and I want to experiment more to figure out what might help her relax better before bed. My 2 month old sleeping better than her is spurring me to try new things. Wondering if there’s any creative ideas outside of the usual routines. I just can’t figure out what her trick will be
