Can someone give me a tl dr of the feeding littles stance on sugary desserts and how to incorporate them into meals? How do I respond to the constant request for cupcakes? Now I say that we can eat them later andninserve it alongside real food. Is that right?

My kid didn’t walk til 17 months and acquired all gross motor fairly slowly. He was just happy to be where he was and then happy to crawl to where he wanted to be 🤷

One of my kids crawled at 6 months and one at 10 months and both were within normal range.

My dh didn’t walk until he was 17 months old, and he’s kinda weird but not because of that.

Yep. And you can be specific about which meal, like “we’re having cupcakes at dinner.” And then stand firm on that.

To add to ducky’s comment, feeding with dinner we usually give as much as he wants of any food, and the first time he did this, he ate a TON of cookies and I freaked out. Since then he rarely even finishes the first small portion of dessert. So don’t freak out the first time or two!

I’ll look up. Motherhood and milestones. Thank you.

My learning on it is based on a very shallow mention while studying education in the early 2000’s. So I learned about it at university (serious education) but definitely not in the context of an in-depth study of early child development.

At this point Waffles won’t tolerate tummy time in any form. Not in the garden, not at eye level, not with toys, not on an interesting mat, not if a desirable object is just out of reach, not on top of me…

I think a tunnel might be in our future.

Baby Spore turns 6 months this weekend and has mostly figured out feeding, sleeping, and wiggling. Now what? How do I parent a half year old??

He starts daycare in about a month too. Any suggestions for prep or expectations?

Whatever you are used to, it will change…

Any ideas for bribes for potty training a toddler? I don’t feel good about food bribes, screen time is already basically unlimited, and I can’t think of anything else that would be immediate enough to be useful.

I keep thinking about a sticker chart but I hear that stickers are not as inherently compelling for 3-year-olds as they are for me.

I am surrounded by an ocean of pee attempting to train a 14 month old. He really likes toilet paper and gets a square to wipe with after he goes in the potty.

Do three year olds like toilet paper?

Stickers are super motivating for my almost 3 year old. Is there anything they are super excited about when you do it? We have a sticker chart and o e of the things is a dollar because she is highly amused by money.

It depends on the kid, but I once got a three year old to 50% potty trained in 1.5 days with stickers. 1 for going on the potty. 2 for telling me ahead of time and then going on the potty.

I just let my kid each just his cake for dinner and I dunno if I can do this feeding littles thing! Unless I didn’t incorrectly? Was that wrong?
