Apparently the children have not been in school this whole time.
I don’t know much about kids, but I’m fairly certain having 3 kids 10 and under running around, away from school and their friends is not conducive to recovery from surgery.

I know they have the like super ninja nannies because they’re royals, but that still sounds like hell. Then again they have houses big enough to relegate the children to a particular wing.
I imagine they insulate the children as well as they can from the media always, but might they be keeping the kids out of the public to go ultra mega lock down so they don’t say something they shouldn’t? I also have no idea how old the kids are, I honestly thought there were two children that’s how out of touch I am.

I have to admit I had a free audiobook and a very long international flight so I listened to the whole book of spare. A lot of this maps so heavily with the MO for the royals and their press relationships that it is scary

I read Spare on Libby, and all of his talk about how the press spun things, and the various Royal offices would, basically, throw each other under the bus was … something.

Spare was my first book of the year. At first I didn’t think I would read it after it got so heavily criticized for being whiny, but I didn’t find it that way. Obviously there is always an element of ‘poor little rich kid,’ when someone of that level of privilege talks about their difficult life but…I wouldn’t trade with him for anything in the world.

I felt the same, the only thing I didn’t like about it was that he felt the need to explain every thing that had hit the pres about him, but because I did not follow royal press, I didn’t know about a bunch of the minor things.
I heard royalty described as “elite human trafficking and cruel” and I can’t help but think about that way. They don’t have their passports or IDs, don’t get a choice in where they live or who they marry, have every element of their life speculated on, or it just seems unspeakably cruel as an institution for the people in it and a waste of money for the people out of it.
They’re the original influencers, but now we have influencers who opt into this lifestyle - that isn’t a great model but it is better

I agree, I didn’t know a lot of those either, but I figured if you had never been able to speak up or defend yourself before, it was probably going to come out a little…immature or explosive the first time you did. It really sounded like he was raised in such an unattached and institutionalized way.

Right there with you. And I only know George is older because before he was born they changed the rule about “eldest boy inherits” to “eldest child inherits” but it conveniently didn’t matter since their eldest was a boy. And by conveniently I think they already must’ve had a scan of the baby to know so it wasn’t a whole Thing when he was actually born.

I am very confused about the children because when I googled the article I found had a photo of Kate, William, and four children but only identified three of them. I guess the fourth child was not one of theirs who just happened to be in the picture but it didn’t say who she was at all.
None of the kids appeared to be very small.

I think they are all elementary age.
She had really awful HG pregnancies that required bed rest/hospitalization. So the speculation is was that she would get a hysterectomy but that would not usually require a 14 day hospital stay, and 3-9 months convalescence.
I hope that she is actually just getting needed medical care and is recovering well with her family and just doesn’t want pictures taken. I really hope that is true.
