New jumpers arrived. They’re somewhere between wearing a rug and a jumper and are a much richer green than on the website, which delighted me. Crossover front for baby access BUT so much fabric that I’m super warm, rather than a cold breeze on my belly.

But I am roundbellied relative to my bottom half. Any way I can replicate it? Maybe skater skort? Leather pencil looked not great.

A skater skirt or pleated skirt is what I’d pick for you, preferably with a thicker band style waist rather than no band because it will help it sit in the right spot and be better for ratios.

@Meowkins I’d also consider pairing it with a cropped t shirt style top rather than opting for a true oversized shirt tucked in. You will have more skirt volume than the girl in the pic so also having a tucked in top might be a lot of fabric for the look you want. It might veer more into 50s rather than 90s

Sometimes I think I don’t look good in black, but then I think it is that I don’t look good in black in the winter when I lose all the colour in my face except a red nose.

I think you look great! Lighting has a big effect, fluorescent lighting is not great for many of us, so could that be a factor? Also, some blacks have cool undertones, others warm, if that might make a difference.

I’d been looking for a vaguely similar skirt to wear as a rounder-than-I-used-to-be person - I ended up going for this skirt that was a) relatively sturdy, with a lining, and b) a bit more a-line than pencil and it worked pretty well.
