Fashion minded OMD-ers, I need your help!
In two weeks I am attending an outdoor wedding. Dress code is “cocktail” and my two options are below:
I feel like the black may be too plain/austere, but the grey might be too fancy? It’s at a “wedding barn” type venue, as far as I’m aware.
Suggestions for accessorizing also appreciated!

Grey is definitely cocktail and I wouldn’t consider it to be too fancy, but it depends on your friend group. Black would depend on shoes/hair/jewelry/makeups to be cocktail in my opinion.

I’m loving the gray dress for a cocktail attire wedding. If it were me, I’d add a chunky blacelet, simple earrings and something sparkly in my hair, along with killer high heels.
Black would need some jewelry, fancier hair, party shoes to move it away from work clothes. Can you check in with others going to the wedding on what they are gonna wear? Both dresses would be appropriate.
Ultimately, the biggest thing is how would you feel if it turned out you guessed wrong on the level of fancy. Would you prefer to be on the over or underdressed side of things? Is one dress more comfortable than the other?
What’s your weather situation? You could add tights to both (black to Grey dress, maybe something fun and sparkly to black) if temp is going to be a concern.

For sure the sparkly dress! Very pretty and festive-- this is a party! I’d pair it with a fancy shawl to keep you warm. And pretty shoes.

My default is definitely to underdress. These are friends of mr krmit I’ve never met before, but his sisters will also be attending and I can check on what they’re wearing. Weather is likely in the 70-80s but I’ll keep tabs on that as we get closer to the day.

Having been to a barn wedding last October (the 10th)- it cools off FAST. Unless it’s a super early wedding, plan for the night temps not the day ones! 
ETA esp if it’s near any water. ETA 2: and remember that areas out of town can regularly be like 10 degrees cooler at night.
